Tigers star's scheme to beat summer calories

Can't question his commitment. He's always been a consummate professional and irrespective of his form that is a quality that should be lauded.

Nobody can ever question that. He leads by example without a doubt but if the young blokes continue their solid form from this season and Big Pat demands a spot on the left edge then it is just a question of whether Rowdy can step up his game to challenge for his preferred position or whether he will be shuffled to the forwards. Hope he has a blinder of a year in 2014 but at this stage it is a big "if" IMO.

I like most of us hope he returns to devastating form. I also would like to see him concentrate on speed and agility when he feels he is fully recovered. What we cannot have is a repeat of his 2013 form. The ball is in his court.

I also think that "agility" is the key for him. Steering clear of the weights room altogether over the off season to rid himself of some the stiffness he seems to have gained along with the bulk may help.

Lawrence hit rock bottom in 2013\. Watching Simon Mannering out run him in a 30m chase to the ball made me realise just what damage that hip injury did. He's 24 and may never recover from that injury, but at least he's giving himself every opportunity.

I'd really love to see Rowdy come back and blitz it. His attitude, professionalism and class is top notch. I've always thought he had the potential to be our future captain.

1200 calories in one session?!?!
wow

that actually sounds unhealthy

Breakfast: This creamy Banana Spice Smoothie clocks in at 283 calories.

Lunch:
4-inch whole-wheat pita bread, 1 ounce of feta cheese, a cup of grape tomatoes, 6 Kalamata olives, 2 tablespoons hummus and a cup of raw spinach with 1 teaspoon of olive oil and a squeeze of lemon juice drizzled on top. That's 346 calories.

Dinner:
Clementine & Five-Spice Chicken with 2 cups of bok choy sautéed in 2 teaspoons olive oil with garlic and 1/2 cup brown rice. The whole meal delivers 455 calories.

Snacks:
small apple as your morning snack and in the afternoon 1/2 cup of raw sugar snap peas with a wedge of light Laughing Cow cheese.

Lawrence has to reinvent himself if he doesn't this will be his last season at the Tigers, I believe a leaner ,lighter and faster frame has to be aimed for .I see Lawrence over the past as muscle bound and this in tern has slowed him down and hindered his movement. What ever he has been doing in the past is not working ..good luck but a different philosophy is required at least he is looking after himself after footy with his business as this could be full time come 2015.

Everyone had him earmarked for the forwards for some reason….what happened to that?

Place is full of experts

Lawrence is a great player when playing his best, everyone knows that. If he can get fully fit by round 1 I would have him in the NSW Cup team. Ease him in as if he has never played a first grade game before, he is still young and I wouldn't mind the club spending next year trying to get him back into full form. He can start the season in NSW Cup and slowly come into the team.

That was funny

Just like the guy who said Moltz at hooker and the ongoing 'sironen at lock' which isn't a horrible idea but one i don't agree with for him right now.

I thought he was starting to find his feet towards the end of the yr. That game against the Sharks in particular, he showed glimpses of his old self. I'm prepared to see how he goes after a good, injury free off-season. He almost crippled himself, he deserves a chance to repay the faith the club has shown in him. Too bad some of the supporters are too fickle to give the guy a chance.

I think that this is a common statement that is incorrect. 100 metre runners have to be beasts.

Wel said CB. I'd love to see Rowdy go through a full season without injury, and to regain some speed. I'd like to see him start season a couple of kilos lighter and hopefully quicker.

 People questioning Lawrence's ability to get back to his best has got nothing to do with fickleness. How many chances are you prepared to give someone who is severely underperforming? Wonder if you would be willing to give Moltzen, Blair, BMM etc (or any other of our players that have been labelled as underperforming over the years) the same leeway?

Fair dinkum, if some people on here were in charge of running our team roster we would have a team full of "great blokes" who are playing footy like busted arses. Probably the same people who consistently bagged Sheens and questioned his knowledge.

Not much room for sentiment in modern footy, perform or someone else will take your spot.

Nobody is saying don't give him another chance but who wants to see emerging talent moved on while blindly living in hope?

Firstly comparing Lawrence to Moltzen is completely idiotic in the extreme. Lawrence was on the verge of being the best centre in the game at the time of his injury, something Moltzen cannot claim to have been, not to mention as serious as Timid's injury was, Lawrences was 10 times as worse. Secondly, your eyes must have been painted on BMM was a beast towards the end of the yr, and i've been one of Blair's only supporters, particularly this yr with his move into the front row, he improved considerably.

And something perhaps you chose to ignore before going off half cocked was i said i thought Lawrence was showing good signs towards the end of the yr, hence i don't see any reason why he should be let go.
