Tigers stuffed up by playing at SFS!

those who bag Humphreys have zero clue!!!

his predecessor (Longmuir) was a dunce with no corporate credentials and no feel for football!

the decision for the semis was made when we signed a contract to play home games at the SFS before the 2009 season (with a major financial incentive to play those games there).

The contract required us to play home semis at the SFS (just as the contract in 2005 required us to play our home semi at Homebush)! Noone was whinging & moaning back then - because we won!

Also note - gate takings for ALL games are the NRL's after the regular season concludes!

As for a Tigers stadium at Leumeah - no thanks!!!!!!

Assuming all true, thats why were playing at SFS then. There really is a financial incentive ,albeit not directly linked to yesterdays game
BTW..all agree Humphries is doing a great job,but Longmuir never get the opportinity .I wish them both well.

Your a local Redemption, what's your thoughts on Concord? Can it work, or as stated above, do the Greenies have too much of a say?

can we just build a tigers stadium? And then play at the one place for every home game

if the government builds a new 45,000 seat stadium in leumeah, if we win the soccer world cup bid, then that can be it

sadly alien leumeah was knocked back in favor of blacktown to appease the afl.

Concord is a fantastic training base - but struggles to meet the needs for club Rugby finals (as per this and last weekend) - as such it is not a prospect for in-season games let alone finals.

For training purposes - Cambo is too much of a struggle/hike for day-to-day traing for inner/coastal based players - and would prove to be a major hurdle when recruiting players in the future. And Leichhardt is stuck in the 20th century!

We aren't Parramatta - who are the only team in Sydney to own their stadium (under the Stadium Trust banner). N\Also note that the Titans are the only other team with stadium ownership (and a huge mortgage).

I love Leichhardt and enjoy Cambo - but I believe we need to be able to play the big end-of-season games at the big stadiums - regardless of supposed home ground advantage (and I'd take the SFS over Olympic Park any day)!

The AFL do it successfuly throughout the season with the MCG - and Buzz-knuckle Rothfield is running a campaign for big grounds to be used for big games that might make this topic redundant!

Unless we move to Bluetongue (just joking) - I cannot see an easy solution.

Do the Panfers rent CUA???

Concord makes Lidcombe Oval look like Lang park….only you cant park there...

Penrith Park is owned by the council - who earn money off the naming rights from CUA!

As per Kogarah-Jubilee and previously OKI!

New stadium for Sydney if we win world cup will be rectangular and not suitable in any way for AFL. FFA is no lover of AFL. FFA wan't blacktown mostly because of the growth there and to p*ss of AFL.

The stadium location can change if we win the bid. If the bid is won NRL must lobby both the NSW government and FFA to build the stadium either at liverpool/fairfield (suit dogs, tigers and soccer is strong in this area) or cambpelltown (suit tigers and soccer would have access to a growth area).

Many stadium locations in South Africa were changed after the bid was won. Blacktown is a bad choice as no NRL team really needs a ground there and the last thing any NSW government want is a white elephant after the world cup. Leumeah is still a very big chance if we win the cup.

Atleast at Leumeah it's right next to the train station and near the main roads. There is also room to build a multy level carpark. On the other side of the station walk north a bit and there is more parking there.

Sadly alien leumeah was knocked back in favor of blacktown to appease the afl.

you dont make sense how would the ffa go to blacktown p*ss off afl

If they built it where Campbelltown Stadium is now then they could base the new western Sydney A-League team there. Heaps of people play soccer in the Macarthur area.

Wests Tigers fans outnumbered the roosters fans at the SFS and it really felt like a Wests Tigers home game. The crowd was behind the side and I don't believe playing this game at Campbelltown or LO would have made a difference.

Rubbish, the atmosphere was incredible and it was definately a Tigers home game, when you cant win a scrum with 30 seconds to go the last thing we should be worried about is the venue costing us the game. All you trying to bring the Dragons into this, the reason the Dragons won the penalty count 10-5 was because Manly were awful and trying to upset the rythmn of St George by playing a spoiling game, home ground had zero to do with that game.

AFL are basing their new Sydney team at Blacktown.

AFL want the world cup of soccer if we get it, to be the lets build AFL all these new stadium and upgrade our other stadiums world cup.

AFL wanted a new stadium in Sydney to be an oval so they could play there. Football Federation Australia are jack of it and have decided to put the new Sydney stadium at Blacktown (right where the second AFL team is based) but football designed and not capable of being used ever for AFL.

It would suit NRL to have this new stadium in Sydney's southwest (Liverpool, Fairfield or Cambpelltown) instead of Blacktown and the NRL must lobby for this to occur.
