I really have to tell some of you guys and girls just a little history about moneys paid to players.....here goes and it was when I played so we can put it in perspective....
I got ..$10 a win in reserve grade,nothing for a draw or loss..
I got $50 a win in first grade,nothing for a draw or loss..
Back then in the 80s ....
A schooner was worth 90 cents...
A pack of Winfield was $1.15...
A litre of petrol was 34cents...
So when it came to end of year payments if I won 6 games in res and 1 game in firsts I got a grand total of $110.00 for the season..
If I took a chick out for a Chinese dinner which included meals and drinks it was about $35.00...
And these blokes complain because if they win,lose draw or get dropped or injured they still get their pay cheque...
a generation of entitled soft wannabees that deserve a good kick in the arse or moved on....
I still had to work as well as train and get myself to the games such as if we played at Cootamundra I had to play A grade touch footy at 8,30 in the morning,go home get changed and pick my mate up and get to Coota 1 hour before kick off...
