So Kent had Brooks telling Madge he doesn't like the way he coaches so Madge said try it my way..but know Pooper has Brooks in the background too scared to say anything..

OK

Let me begin by saying that I am as disappointed and frustrated as anyone with another season of failure.

However it was interesting reading people’s reaction to the story. Lots of emotion as fans and this is expected but in all reality for the players, this is their workplace. Now just imagine this is your workplace and your supervisor had everyone fearful of being sacked - it would be expected that there would be a complaint or escalation.

If this is true, the fact this was leaked (and my guess is a player)indicates a fair amount of disharmony with some players. If Madge has lost some of the playing group as this story implies then It has been my observation that as soon as the media note a “lost dressing room” then coaches start dusting off their CV.

I fear this will end badly - my guess is another media frenzy that will make us even a less desirable destination. An ugly player or coaching departure(s) that will be bypassed by the the caliber of player we need to turn things around.

You raise a good point about fearful of being sacked as its not a great culture and you don't really go into work wanting to improve the workplace.

I myself am a supporter of Madge but was left frustrated with his blow up this season when he kicked the chair as i thought it was unprofessional considering we were winning at half time in that game and went on to lose it.

Players do need a kick up the butt when not performing but lets not play up to the cameras and give the Media something to gossip about as it's fair to say as a club we always draw the short stick when it comes to them, how many feel good stories do the media portray with us, and then the ref decisions in some games just are as deplorable.

We all know Madge is a hard task master that's what the club needs now, someone that will change the culture, sign and develop players that want to play for the club as a team and also play for the coach understanding he is the boss.

However in saying this there should be no difference between the workplace and Club when it comes to performance.
In a workplace as long as handled the correct way its usually a three strikes and your out.
In the Club you have a contract that needs to be honored no matter what your performance is or if your injured.
If you perform not to the standards of the team you are dropped and if you continue to not make the cut your contract should be reviewed.

I think for all concerned the best approach is not to invite the Media in but it's hard to do that when players are continuing running to them.

Rule 1 - If you have a job in the Media prior to retirement you need to sign a confidentially agreement.
Rule 2 - If your a player that talks to the Media you are given a breach notice within your contract and asked to explain, this also means non selection next game.
Rule 3 - Player Managers anything discussed about the club is not to be given to the Media, If the source both player and Manager are issued with breach of contract notices.

Naturally under all these circumstances there should be confidentially contracts, we have lawyers that sponsor the club maybe they should start looking at this within our culture.

Agree we don't want a feeding frenzy with the Media look what has transpired with other clubs this season, Saints coach is a perfect example of this loves the club, players respect him but Media wanted a change and finally got it, have they done any better since NO.

The comparison with employees worrying about getting sacked is off, because these players will still collect their fat pay check whether they're picked or not.

100% There are no players under the threat of being 'sacked', as such. Only dropped. And as others have mentioned it certainly isn't without reason when it does occur.

My money and the whispers I am hearing is it is that player that I like least and wish wasnt in the team

Does it rhyme with Shosh Deynolds?

Yep definitely..........

Of course I have zero idea, just making the point that everyone is going to speculate based on their bias. The Brooks haters will say its Brooks, Packer haters will say its Packer and intelligent people who truly understand Rugba leeg and psychology will know that it is in fact JR. Probably a couple will even speculate that its Jennings.

Well It's not the guys who make a lot of errors

A couple of things:

(1) There was no Pooper warning, please remember the regulations.

(2) Looks like 95% of fans are united that we back the coach, and it's not so common to have unity amongst fans, so at least that's a good thing.

(3) Players SHOULD be walking on eggshells fearing the outcome of repeat poor performances. The opposite is complacency.

(4) There hasn't been a single player unduly dropped in 2020. They've all had plenty of opportunity and the coach has always stuck strong for a decent period.

(5) The team lacks toughness, that's our primary issue. There is some talent, there is effort, but we lack toughness in those difficult moments, particularly season 2020 where the rules have changed (literally) and COVID has affected everyone's preparation. So many teams in 2020 are fragile, but it's not something we should be excusing.

(6) Where a team lacks toughness, you bring in a tough coach. I don't care about "losing dressing room" or "lack of delicate man management" if the toughness is missing, first and foremost. Talk to me about improved player management when they are tough first.

(7) Broncos are a prime example of a team full of talent, playing like busteds and lacking the mental toughness to do anything about it. Seibold is a snowflake and the roster has responded by failing to do any hard work. That is not the direction Tigers need to go, and we are on a knife's edge right now of getting better or far worse.

(8) This is a rare opportunity to do the opposite of Tigers 2012-2019 - back the coach, work out a new single-stadium deal and double-down on culture development, player strength and conditioning, junior investment. Identify the trouble-makers and weak-minded and put them on the sidelines.

As usual mate, great post. A shame I can only like it once.

I think it might be that guy who drops the ball a lot and misses a lot of tackles.

but if they are scared to make mistakes cause they get dropped as Pooper says ..I would think it's the one's that don't drop the ball a lot and make errors cause they are safe..

I dunno..

Every year it the same, we hit the wall, the wheels fall off and the mud starts to fly. We are a very easy target for the media to find big headlines.
Not doubting there has been some very unhappy troopers wanting to blame the coach or who ever for some poor form, but this goes on at every club who are not performing. It seems the media find us a easier target than say the Dogs or Dragons.

One thing for certain a new coach will not turn our present roster into a top 8 outfit. So Pascoe and the board have to get the playing group together and offer anyone who wants out a release and than try and recruits some leaders.....I would also offer Madge a release if he wanted it and if he said no I would extend him

The problem the club has its two biggest earners are also the two biggest bludgers who are happy to sit on the sidelines and collect their pay packet.....they are going nowhere

Mate Im having a lend and a joke. No one knows if this is even remotely true or who it is. Everyone will think it is definitely not their favourite and probably is their least favourite players.

If I was a troublemaker I'd suggest that all the evidence points to Tommy Talau, but Im more of a peacemaker.

I've seen bigger blow-ups at daycare.

Come back to me when Madge spits on the perspex of the coaches box or tears a door off its hinges!

I just want to say that this is not the Woop Woop 2nd division side playing for beers and steak sandwiches..these blokes are on big money in the worlds toughest competition.....the fitter you are the less chance of injury...if its to hard for some of these pretenders ,then let them go somewhere else...the coach is the boss...

hard but fair....

The unrest is dominated by a few at the top of our salary apparently the younger dudes are just following the herd. As a whole, the playing group is unhappy but for lots of different reasons not as unified as it's made out to be apparently.

It's comical that these players are saying "it's not working". Nothing that they've done for a decade has worked! So how would they know what works & what doesn't if they don't put effort in?? How many coaches do they have to go through to get something that "works"?? Sounds like inmates trying to run a prison. Clear out the house if that's their attitude.

The silent coachslayer - 4 down and counting !
I don't know who is behind it but you would have your Brooks blinkers on if you disregarded him as not being somehow involved. If there is one player who looks like he is playing on eggshells it's him.

Realistically, the younger guys in our squad can see the likes of Packer, Reynolds, MBye on big money and not playing well, sometimes not even being picked in First Grade. That is guaranteed to create a bit of team disharmony, seeing your colleague on a lot more money than yourself and feeling that you're working harder and are a better player than they are.

And the older guys who we're trying to cut free, obviously wouldn't like being cut free, they could feel as they are being devalued.

Problem is there's no professionalism there. The older players should be trying their best for a new contract elsewhere, it's themselves they are hurting as well as the club. We need a leader, desperately.
