doesn't mean this

No the coach should never tell a player he is going to play CC no matter what,

“Something’s hit me over the last week or two, I had a chat with Madge last week and I thought I was really going to go the other way.
“I’m pretty upset because it’s hard to cop that you’re not a part of someone’s team, but I’ve got so much to give and I just want to get out there and play some footy.

He was told he could explore other options. Reynolds is very honest and frank and is being mature about it unlike some others.

Yeah,,,Madge would not have said you are never playing FG with Wests Tigers again I don't think..

Reynolds is not the 1st and wont be the last to be told to explore his options elsewhere

He didn't say it outright, but it was very much implied

Benji has never been dropped, never played CC since he came back, he has been picked in first grade every time he has been fit, Grub doesn't have to be very smart to read between the lines, no other half gets a look in.

The Tigers don’t want to force him out of the club and have told Reynolds he will be given every opportunity to reclaim his position in the NRL side, however it seems unlikely he will be the club’s first choice No.6 next season.

He was not told he will be playing CC no matter what!

Shame Brooks isn’t told to “explore “ his options !
6 Bunji
7 J Rey

And as for your further post when has Marshall ever played Reggie’s ?

And why does a post turn into a Brooks bashing..?

I believe he’s the common denominator why we suck .

The Brooks bashing amaze me, the bloke got voted no7 of the year in 2018 and people think he is a dud. He is one of our few class players. My mind continues to drift back to the days when we had a new no7 every few weeks.

Anyway thank God the people who count rate him

Benji hasn’t played CC because he hasn’t been in the position to be coming back and getting the jersey off of J Rey. It was a coincidence that when benji got injured, Reynolds came in... then Reynolds got injured and benji was ready to go after that hamstring injury. So Reynolds’ situation is different to benji’s.

I find it interesting that people actually blame Benji for being picked for 1st grade, they make it sound like he is unwilling to play CC. That is simply not the case, he has shown that he will play reserves when required.

basically spent his entire time in Brisbane playing for Redcliffe. Whenever Josh has been in FG, Benji has been injured. Then Benji would return when Josh was reinjured.

I’m thinking Mbye will be groomed to shift to five-eight when Benji’s finished. Considering his skill set, the money he’s on and being the captain the obvious succession plan would be moving him closer to the action where he can have greater control and influence on the team. The club can then focus on recruiting some quality outside backs and a fullback.

@supercoach I'm with you supercoach, he has not turned into Andrew Johns like some were predicting but that was a very tough comparison.

What team has a better halfback? DCE is probably the best at the moment but has quite a few games where he is invisible/ineffective, Mitchel Pearce falls apart under any pressure, Cooper Cronk is a great kicker and game manager but doesn't offer much else. Nathan Cleary looked good until he was selected for Origin 2018 and it seems to have shattered his confidence, Chad Townsend alternates between lukewarm and freezing. Ben Hunt has confidence issues and goes missing for weeks, Jake Turpin? Jack Cogger? Blake Green? Aiden Sezer? Jake Clifford? Ash Taylor? Brodie Croft? Mitchell Moses?

I'm pretty sure anyone that doesn't rate Brooks would be whinging even more about any other 7.

I can’t see Reynolds getting interest from any club.

He just doesn’t spend enough time on the park to take the risk.

Hoping for a miracle in relation to Reynolds, Matulino, Packer and McQueen to free up much needed space.

I can see a club taking him for between $250-350k

I reckon he ends up back at the Bulldogs.

I hope so!

Unlike the WT's they don't have a back to the future mindset or getting the band back together

Like many the clubs they move on

Brooks has never been able to manage a game or kick well consistently ... he’s Ash Taylor without the sooking. Heaps of teams have better halfbacks ... your comparisons are a joke.

Brooks has never been able to manage a game or kick well consistently ... he’s Ash Taylor without the sooking. Heaps of teams have better halfbacks ... your comparisons are a joke.

Teams with better halfbacks on current form:
* Rabbitohs - Adam Reynolds
* Roosters - Cooper Cronk
* Sea Eagles - Daly Chery-Evans
* Eels - Mitchell Moses (only this season, has been woeful in past seasons)
* Knights - Mitchell Pearce

And then Luke Brooks sits right below this lot.

People who keep saying he doesn't run the ball...check the bloody stats. No half runs the ball more than Luke Brooks. He sits 10th for ALL runs (251 in 16 games). The next best is Pearce at 50th (198 in 15 games). Source: https://www.nrl.com/stats/players/?competition=111&season=2019&stat=1000038

When it comes to the game management arguments, we have 2 other senior players who both failed to kick the ball into touch in the Melbourne game earlier in the year. Both of whom actually kicked the ball in the closing stages of that match!

And then there's Brooks' defence, which is fantastic for a halfback, no other way to describe it.

Like it or not, Brooks is here to stay, and there's nobody better running around at the moment who could reasonably replace him. If you back a rookie to do the job, have fun waiting 3+ years for that to bear fruit.

A thread about Reynolds now used by some to give Brooks a serve. It could only be WTs where some want to criticise a player who is among the top 8 halfbacks. Not only that, he stayed when all the others left! You want loyalty, you have to start extending it yourself otherwise the team would be filled with the Tedesco's of the world who are off like robbers dogs at the sight of Politis' or Ricky's billfold.

At the beginning of the season I posted that I wanted Reynolds starting ahead of Benji, so I'm not a Reynolds basher. As others have noted, Maguire now has Marshall in the game management role and he has been paying reasonably well. That's why Marshall continues to get a run even when Reynolds is fit. I too would like to see Reynolds on the park, I like him, but what is his game management like?
There's your answer.
