@hobbo1 I would offer a good 2 yr contract to Maloney .. he pretty much ticks all the boxes for what is missing in the team ATM..a winner ...a goal kicker .. calm under pressure ... can clutch play and still has the body to compete each week . This is a no brainer to be honest , that leaves the club 2 seasons to find another long term replacement.. Benji plays reserves and fills in when needed . But as with all decisions this club makes Benji will be the first priority unfortunately!

The problem is Benji doesn't play reserves, how many games has he played since he come back, zero, that is why I want him gone, that and he is holding Brooks back

Adam Reynolds?

I can’t see Reynolds getting interest from any club.

He just doesn’t spend enough time on the park to take the risk.

Hoping for a miracle in relation to Reynolds, Matulino, Packer and McQueen to free up much needed space.

I can see a club taking him for between $250-350k

I reckon he ends up back at the Bulldogs.

I hope so!

@851 none of us are saying he doesn’t deserve better.. as a matter of fact If he could stay on the field without getting injured maybe he’d get what he deserves. It’s not his fault but it’s reality. He injured his groin after two games back in CC, if you put him in first grade for those two games, you would have had to put benji back in and then there is no stability there. Madge has said he is going of off form and benji is in form. Nothing nostalgic about that, he is one of our best and consistent players each week. If we were in fact being nostalgic are you are saying we wouldn’t be calling for Farah to be dropped, his from has dropped because he just isn’t up to it anymore.

Yes I would like to see Farah dropped, Liddle starting at 9, I want to move on from yesterdays hero's and plan for a future, we have a Marty McFly future at this club

@851 so do I, but it doesn’t seem like Reynolds is apart of that because his body isn’t doing him any favours, until we find a suitable replacement, benji is our best option.

As I understand it, Bulldogs have no plans to chase Josh Reynolds. As much as everyone would love the fairytale, they have other priorities at the moment.

I suspect no one will be in the market for Reynolds. What is his market value after missing 3 seasons. It may be a Greg Eastwood situation.
A swap for another bad contract in a position of need may be the only play.

I think you could offload Packer, ET, Macqueen, Mbye a lot easier.

I get the impression if there are any takers Reynolds will leave and not dig his heels in just to earn his $800k in CC (aka Packer).

If he was injury free he would be a great number 14 each weekend would keep him. Unfortunately his body is not up to it and that's why no one will want him.

@Papacito Yeah I can't fault Reynolds approach and attitude. The injuries he's had I'm sure frustrate him as much as the rest of us.

I just hope there's some plan. Say he does go, what then? Brooks and Marshall with no cover? We can only hope Madge has the move after that planned. **Relying on Benji in 2020 as your only 5/8** basically is a recipe for disaster.

Well, we'll be relying on Brooks as our only half, there's no one in reggies, or anywhere else, at anywhere near first grade standard.
No pressure on him to perform at all.

I think we are in the same situation that Manly where with Balin, nice bloke and good player when on the field but his body cant take any more even when he is willing to push it.
Unfortunately i honestly cant see a positive outcome

People forget Mbye is decent 5/8. Most good teams don't have anyone as good as Mbye to cover when their first choice half is out.

Look at Roosters, they had Hutchinson of all players as their second choice 5/8.

We're effectively spending about 1.3m on the 5/8 position at the moment so it's obvious that we can't keep both Benji and Reynolds.

Even injury free he is taking up way too much cap space, and is highly unlikely to ever be in a position again to be worth anything close to that. Dont understand how some can make allowances for him and yet be dirty on long serving players -also past their best '- who continue to give everything they have got on a third of the amount.
Its not a personal issue well documented about what a great man he is, but he just has not been able to fulfill what he has been paid to do.

Holding Brooks back? Mate I normally agree with you on most things, but this ain’t one of them. No one is holding Brooks back but himself. He’s had ample time in the NRL to prove his worth as a top grade half (with and without Benji by his side). He has never delivered anything good on a consistent basis. Please no more excuses for this guy!

Maybe Reynolds should be starting a move into coaching part time so he can offer extra value? He has an enthusiasm that prove just as useful coaching as playing.
