From this mornings Telegraph;

“SHOOSH III:

Which out-of-Sydney club will hold a meeting next week to discuss taking Josh Reynolds off the Wests Tigers hands?”

Assuming this rumour has merit , I could only think of the Titans

Perhaps Newcastle?

Titans and Storm....

@tony-soprano unfortunately yes. He’s about a 300-350k player but Cleary offered him the deal of a lifetime otherwise he would never have left Dogs

You left out the washing machine..

More money wasted on a player that contributed zero on the field for our club.

Most fans could see this being a dud buy from when the talk of him signing with us started.
You just had to look at his footy at the Dogs before he came here, it was woeful!!!
He looked like a banged up old trotter held together with miracle tape and prayers

Are we sure on this, all I ever heard was $3 million over 4 years and I heard $700k got to $750k at some stage but never up into the $900s
While we are on that Mbye is reported as on $950k each year from 2019 through to 2022? It was reported when he signed with us he was on somewhere around $750k to $800k with the Dogs and that they were covering $250k for 2019 & 2020. I can't believe he would have got an increase on $800k, does anyone have anything concrete to go on with these estimates?

No, nobody knows the details of these contracts. I have noticed though that when we and/or the player concerned is playing poorly people like to just add $200Kpa to any reported figures or estimates just so they can stick the boot into the club some more.

@Nelson

Suffice to say they’re being paid way too much

Enough to justify ‘sticking the boot in’ if that means being generally well over paying overs for players who are proven duds, such that yet another round of waiting patiently for the cap to be resolved goes up in flames, leaving us having to sit around watching more sub par footy

Respect fans through excellence. At least a little. Not much to ask.

He's not on that money. Despite what lazy morons in the press say.

But yes of course we still overpaid for him.

Yes they are being paid too much and it's fair enough to be critical. I don't see why people see the need to pad the numbers out to make the situation seem even more egregious than it is. Reynolds at $700K or $750K is overpaid. Reynolds at $250K would be overpaid based on his contribution over the last 2 years. Why is it necessary for people to start spouting that he's on $950K? Nothing approaching that figure has ever been reported, it's just made up for effect when the argument doesn't even need it...

@Nelson I said 950 in 2021 his final year. It’s not made up, it’s accurate. You can choose to disregard it if you prefer. It’s a very telling example of how badly the West’s Tigers continue to manage their cap, a constant problem since they came into existence.

@airbus how do you know the figures are accurate going by the press release when he signed those figures don’t add up

Cardigan bay perhaps?

People arguing how much he's earning yet I see no accurate post on just what's fact and what's fantasy... Amusing

we'll never know his exact pay but under the circumstances that we bought him- i'd say we'd have overpaid.
