@The_Patriot He’s on 900 next year and 950 in 2021

Are we sure on this, all I ever heard was $3 million over 4 years and I heard $700k got to $750k at some stage but never up into the $900s
While we are on that Mbye is reported as on $950k each year from 2019 through to 2022? It was reported when he signed with us he was on somewhere around $750k to $800k with the Dogs and that they were covering $250k for 2019 & 2020. I can't believe he would have got an increase on $800k, does anyone have anything concrete to go on with these estimates?

I remember reading something about him being close to $1mil because of his selection in QLD SOO team. There may have been a clause in his contract related to selection at that level.

@Curly_Tiger Dudbye is on $950k but the Dogs are covering $175K.

Seems like a hell of a lot, I'm amazed he got an increase to move on

@Curly_Tiger that is the Canterbury contract which had a rachet clause in line with salary cap increase. Once that contract expires his true market value is maybe $400k as a centre. He never lived up to his potential.

Reynolds was man of the match or close to it whenever he stayed on the field for us. He will be a good dummy half for us this week. Although I'd rather Brooks to hooker & Reynolds to 5/8.

That might still happen. Maguire might be keeping his cards close to his chest.

Something needs to happen, Grub is no 9, and neither is ET

G'day @airbus: re your"he's on $900K next year and $950K in 2021. If your figures are correct, and I trust they are, what a bloody disgraceful situation. I hope whoever is responsible for this total over-reaction to get him to our club, has learned a very big lesson :relaxed:

I sure hope so because throwing an injury prone player, who has had minimal game time in 2 seasons into arguably the hardest working position on the field is a recipe for disaster, imo. Brooks is younger, fitter and rarely injured, he could handle dummy half a whole lot better than Reynolds could right now. Plus it’s the perfect opportunity to see how he would handle it. Hopefully sanity will prevail but I’m not holding my breath, as it appears no one is allowed to dislodge Brooks from the number 7 position.

Reynolds 750k cool cool. If he was injury free you could argue him being a little overpaid but not by much. That's considering you have to pay halves more than other positions to bring them to your club. The contract was risky on our part and it didn't pay off.

But Mbye at 950k holy moley. How did that happen? I get that Canterbury paid a lot of his 2018-2019 wage, but he was never gonna play in the halves, and he'd only played half a season at fullback (albeit pretty well). There was always a chance he wouldn't be a fixture in the spine. And now we're paying money, that only the very very best players should be earning, to a utility.

Hopefully one day, way way in the future, we'll be able to see either a player's salary or their market value so we [fans] can understand this whole mess.

Hope he nails it the next few rounds and he stays as a hooker option.

I like Reynolds and don’t think he has had a fair go with us. 100% NRL standard.

I think Josh Reynolds' best position has always been 9. He can run when there is only 1 marker, pass off the ground most other times. He is the sort of competitive player you want in the middle of the field, he also can niggle like Ennis. His shortcomings are creative play and his kicking game is not the best.

Cameron Smith rarely gets injured at 9, he almost never makes first contact in defence. He just grabs on as a second or 3rd defender and slows down the ruck.

He is a great bloke, spoke highly of the club and Madge, would love for him to play 5/8th, I think he still has something to offer

He is a terrible hooker!
