Norths didnt move there. They were taken over by Manly and went as very poor and fractioned orginisation.

Seriously? I was kidding to start with but surely you know the history better than that?

Norths committed to moving to Gosford, the stadium was being built for them, during the building of the stadium there was extremely poor weather which resulted in Norths playing games all over the place including Parra Stadium. This hit their finances terribly and they missed out on the criteria for entry to the NRL which then led to them merging with Manly and the Northern Eagle playing out of Gosford!

All i remember is the Northern Eagles and the miserable failure that was.

You trying to say that if the Roosters or a club like that went to Gosford they wouldnt be a raging success. Seems you just dont have a lot of faith in our brand.

Central Coast Tigers would be a revelation.

I was joking, when you said we should get on the front foot and claim Gosford, I thought it was funny to say Norths already did that and it killed them!

What would Gosford offer? We have enough juniors and enough fans. We need more corporate support, I doubt that would increase.

What we need is..cap space and or.a group of wealthy and high profile supporters who can part with a few brown paper bags.
Than it would not matter if we had ten home grounds

We already have a couple of wealthy, high profile supporters - one has done nothing but write the most corny theme song ever and the other one stays completely incognito in his lair counting his millions while the club continues to go down the gurgler. Both are too honest (or perhaps too stingy) to part with any brown paper bags.

Leichhardt is the best place on Earth as it is.
If you want fancy facilities go somewhere else, Leichhardt doesn't need you.

I go to Leichhardt to experience the atmosphere and watch footy with other passionate Tigers fans.
I couldn't care less about the size of the screens, or the quality of the bathroom fittings or the food, if you know the food is crap, eat before you go or after.
I'm sure you could get through a game without having to jam food into your pie hole, it's not a hotel.

Other than that I agree, but I'd be happy to play every home game at a packed Leichhardt, bad food, small screens, old toilets and all.
Couldn't care less!

Sorry but put those tinted classes away. It sub standard, has been for years. You will never attract the sponsors or modern fans to such an antiquated setup. It needs millions spent on it but that is never going to happen. Bye bye Leichhardt, it was nice while it lasted but we are done.

"Modern fans"???
Sub standard for prissy private school pansy's maybe, it's paradise cupcake.

That's why it's nearly a sellout everytime we play there because nobody wants to go there.
And opposition teams hate playing us there.

Except it’s not a sellout every time. Only on specific matches on specific days. A bit of bias there I’m afraid.

The answer is to get on the front foot and claim Gosford. Will save the club from its eventual demise and relocation to perth.

Worked for Norths!

No it didnt. it was the Northern eagles and no one liked it.

Central Coast Tigers is a completely different thing. We go there and we embrace the central coast.

I'm sure Wests Ashfield would be ok with that.

@diedpretty I do not think West’s Ashfield or the a West’s Group know what they want to be frank ! Hence just leave things as they are a real mess imo ..

They just need to stop trying to please everyone. Make a decision on one ground and if it alienates people tough. And for the record Marina Go was doing the same thing. The club had no true identity under her as well.

No point on making a decision on one ground when the current state of the two of the three stadiums in Sydney is currently up in the air.
They have committed to playing some games at Bankwest, for the next four years and like other Sydney clubs will be effected until all the three stadiums are fully operational.
We are lucky to have other home ground options until the stadiums are complete and we are not the only Sydney club who needs to be flexible during the rebuild/ refurbs.

It seems like the original post was looking for negatives and found them everywhere they looked....

It's footy, it's a good healthy distraction from every day life....some of us are more into it than others and that's fine, others prefer LO over CS, and BW over everything and that's fine too.....but to go on this ride with the Tigers is still a choice...it's a choice to go to the games at whatever stadium you prefer, a choice to stay at home and watch it on tv, a choice to buy the ridiculously expensive craptacular plastic jerseys they peddle on us, everything in regard to this is choice....

If you don't like LO, don't go, if you don't like CS then don't go, I've been very vocal about my distate for BW so I've made a choice to not go there.....Tigers will still keep on playing regardless of the amount of posts we put up in regards to how much of a mess some things in this club have become, but in amongst all that, look for a couple of positives...it's not all complete doom and gloom....

I'll put my soapbox away now....

Yes I am sure Western Suburbs who own the Weststigers would be happy to change their name to Central Coast Tigers which has no mention of west’s at all, Central Coast Magpies would be more of a chance
