Tigers to cash in on phone deal

I don't recall being told that the SMS from Timmy was only for home games when I paid for my membership, not that it really matters. Definitely singing up for YuuTiger - great job by the marketing dept!!

Wests Tigers, one of Australia’s leading sporting brands, have today become the first team in Australasia to launch their brand into the mobile world with the announcement of the market leading YUUTIGER Mobile Platform.

The club now joins other leading sporting teams such as Manchester United and Real Madrid by diversifying into the ever evolving industry that is mobile communication.

Utilising the expertise of YuuZoo, the leading mobile media and payments group with registered users in 164 countries, Wests Tigers will use the profile of their key identities in taking their brand global.

“This strategic move into the mobile space is about taking our brand and messages to our supporters as opposed to the supporters coming to us,’’ said Wests Tigers General Manager of Sales and Marketing, Brett Clarke.

“Almost every adolescent and adult in Australia is now mobile – this project is about being able to connect and, more importantly, interact with each one of these people. We are creating a mobile community.

“The development of our content is about more than targeting just Wests Tigers supporters. We have a good balance of humour with Footy Show regular Beau Ryan, through to the educational side of things with Benji Marshall teaching kids and adults alike how to throw his famous flick pass – all via video on your mobile phone and for less than the cost of your Sunday paper.”

YuuZoo Founder Ron Creevey said this was an exciting and engaging project for his organisation. The launch of the mobile platform is hot on the heels of YuuZoo’s announcement of their push into the Middle East where they are deploying with their local partner to 25 Million existing value added users.

“YuuZoo is at the leading edge of all things mobile. This mobile platform will see Wests Tigers at the forefront of mobile technology worldwide,’’ Creevey said.

“This is more than an iPhone application. Whilst the platform will be available on iPhone, it will also be available to over 1500 different handsets, making the platform available to almost everybody with a mobile phone.”

The YuuTiger platform will provide subscribers with access to a host of video, audio, games and image content of players, cheerleaders and will also allow fans the opportunity to be involved by submitting their own content or being invited to participate in segments on the platform.

“The content available on YuuTiger will not be available anywhere else,’’ Creevey said.

“We will provide unique, exclusive content on a regular basis that will be available for download at any time of the day, wherever you may be”.

The YuuTiger platform will be available from 15 July from http://www.YuuTiger.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or by SMS’ing TIGER to 197 111 11\. Subscription is $6.60 per month which includes 15 pieces of content.

If it sounds too good to be true - it usually is.
Go with your gut instinct.
I would read the T's & C's very carefully, make sure you have a few spare hours.
