Tigers to sacrifice $100K for Leichhardt farewell

maybe the club has had a look at membership base and we potentially have more LO Bankwest and CSS members with all three memberships and potentially some of the CSS members do not have LO memberships ? and they want to play to that. Maybe one day qe xould see from the club the actual breakdown of memberships
More than likely it is due to the hotspot at campbletown

The annoying part is this was originally scheduled to be a Ctown game when the new draw came out. There would be just as much uproar if there was a perception that a Leichhardt game was being taken off by Ctown. The Rowdy thing is equally ridiculous. Taking his farewell game to Leichhardt would be like taking Farah’s farewell game to Ctown.

Well if they are Wests Tigers players it really shouldn't matter which venue it is at ( so i see there is still the Balmain v Wests thing happening). When the new draw came out Campbelltown wasn't a declared "hotspot" and the field hadn't fallen apart under pressure. Now i'm a big believer that this club should be playing all it's home games at Campbelltown, but i won't be getting my knickers in a knot over Leichhardt getting this game just as i wouldn't if it was the other way around.

Campbelltown hasn’t had a game with crowds all year what a joke... club still favours Leichhardt over Campbelltown. Rowdy was a Campbelltown junior, Benji is from NZ so what’s the reason of having the game there?

Omg get over it!!

It’s pretty unfair that Leichhardt can have 3 games with crowds and Campbelltown has 0. Its not like there’s a special reason this game is at Leichhardt either, neither retiring players is from Leichhardt.

The issue for me is the fact there’s been no Campbelltown games there this year. If it was an even amount of games who cares where it is but the club is having 3 Leichhardt games and 0 at Campbelltown which isn’t fair

I think you mean with crowds. I’ve already stated why I find it disappointing. If you’re taking a game to a ground for nostalgia and coming full circle, Ctown fits the bill for both of them.

Yeah with crowds. There was one at Campbelltown without crowds but that doesn’t really count

Great initiative from the club. Congrats to .Pascoe and the team. Complete lock out too - no eels supporters allowed. My personal preference would be no eels players allowed in either.

Right move imo. Don’t care if ctown or Leichhardt. Does anyone know if ctown is available anyway

Can’t see why it wouldn’t be. It’s less of a hotspot than bankwest

That’s nice, considering Ctown has only seen had a game since June. Not to mention Benji debuted there and Lawrence is a Ctown boy. But yeah, Leichhardt 🙄

I thought the same. Didn't Benji also play touch for Wests Magpies?

The club cannot win even with it's own fans... If they leave it at Bank west the fans are complaining & now they are asking to move it and still complaining.. Gee Wiz

Maybe just Maybe the club asked Benji if they could move it what ground did you want to play at and he said Leichardt :man-shrugging: I think it time for some to people to grown up and be adults and just enjoy the last 4 games

He is a club great it is time for him to leave. So for a proper tigers send off it has to be at Leichardt.
Just get the win for a proper send off. please

7500 could say goodbye at BW but only 3200 at LO? Not a great decision in my books

More like 6000 Slimers and 1500 Tigers fans
Great call from management imo

Maybe the club could play the first half at campbelltown and the second half at Leichhardt the day after?Though i dare say some people would complain about that.I can only assume the decision of Leichhardt over campbelltown has more to do with covid concerns than anything else

Imagine if Benji and Rowdy both got injured before the final round. Maybe it'll be like Robbie Farah hobbling out with a broken leg all over again.

So it'll be a standard Wests farewell.

It's our home game. We could have sold tickets via memberships first and blocked the slimers out. But we have a strong history of wasting money and locking fans out.
A feel good story will appease the fans for another year.
