Tigers v Sea Eagles

Couldn’t agree more.

It’s actually laughable some of the stuff I’ve seen on here this season from people bagging Bula and claiming Mason to be better.

Bula is 20x the player of Mason. He shouldn’t be anywhere near a first grade team.
Let’s see, Bula has done very little to assist us winning any of our past 5 games, let’s see if Mason or any other fullback we select can do something to help us win a game.

If we bring the same intensity as last week for the full 80 I feel we will come over them at the back end of the game. They are not resilient annd are soft this year. Unfortunately, if we don’t, they are inside that could rack up a score on us.

Not family nor friend.

A fan because I love players that work hard and put in. Especially when we've had plenty who don't.

Do I think he's a first grade fullback? Not at all, and I've said that a few times. But I'll back him 100% when he's named.

Not to say it won't remain a weakness, but a few examples of players who had the dropsies early went on to be proper first graders.

His future is backup 6 or a 14 anyway.
No issues with what you say .....but if he is a back up 6 or 14 why continue to waste time and money trying to make him a fullback ??

Given the circumstances, it's about as good a team as we can put on the field.

Mason...I don't like him under high kicks. None of us do. But he runs well & if he can link into the backline- he can do a job.

I have read he can't tackle. Let's be honest- when teams make breaks against us, Bula is able to tackle, but it's not his strength. Mason might be a downgrade there, but not significantly. And he might get called on to make 5-10 1 v 1 tackles at most.

Where we need him to be good is positioning. We need him in place to defuse grubbers, kick throughs etc. If he can do that- and add something in attack, he's as good an option today as anyone we have.

If Mason has improved his bomb taking then i think we are a chance. Hopefully Brooks takes a few and shanks them out on the full and then a few forward passes from him .
Just really worried that we will be also fighting the ref's

Given Benji’s comments last week regarding Latu and his loads, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Api playing 7 and Tallyn starting at kickoff. Latu to come on at 20-30 minute mark.

Not sure I like this but it’s better than him doing another soft tissue injury and being sidelined for multiple weeks.

His return plan shouldn’t be risked just because we have a personnel problem.
Agree. I'm stoked to see Latu at 7 but surely the advice has not changed in a week re managing his return. I would much prefer to see Api at 7 and TDS at 9 if there is any increased risk of Latu hurting his hamstring again. Benji will have some questions to answer if Latu breaks down.

With Bulla reportedly out for 4 weeks I would swap Mason for Staines at Fullback , Mason is weak under high ball , Staines is taller , he jumps for a bomb and also runs it back hard , he did good work bringing the pill back when he played wing , Latu at 7 Luai at 6 is good , just hope Latu stays injury free to show off what he has , was good last week .
Bird into the team for me is good , he sparks the team when he comes on so starting could be good , Seyfarth from bench is better as he has a go and with the other team worn down a bit his spark could be handy , we are still short on quality so best we can do now but need
KPP. ✅ hard edge prop , & a centre to complete .
Looking forward to young May getting going to see if he is that centre or we go shopping

Bird as a starting NRL srf means we are two NRL srf’s short in our top 30.
Mason in the team at all?
Like most I love Benji, but I’m struggling at the moment with some of the selections, bench use, game plan, and roster management. But I don’t know all the cards on the table, so I have to trust in his judgment.
Still luv ya Benj

Haha ! What sport do you watch ? Do you even watch the games? Man your takes are seriously out there …. Not even worth arguing the counter point “out there”.
He’s been our best player all year…
When I read posts like this I realise , so many of our fans have zero idea what they’re actually watching . They see tries , they see big hits , the see half breaks, line breaks etc . But tackle to tackle , moment to moment … they might as well be watching Martina Hingis vs Steffie Graf … that’s how irrelevant and out of the loop they are.

  • I love Mason but he's a 14 at this stage. I would rather put Douehi at fullback than Mason personally.
  • The 6 and 7 switch is interesting. Whose team is it? Benji shifted Douehi to halves when Galvin was dropped and named Luai at 6. I don't know what the point of that is?
  • I didn't watch the last game but Sukkar has impressed me at backrow. We can't keep changing that R side halves/ backrower combination. It's giving easy targets to the opposition. Bird started great but has been poor for 2 months now.
  • I expect Fainu at first receiver and Luai at 2nd with most our attack going down left. Mason will have to learn to overcall them both if he sees something on the right. Our best attacking tackle breaker is To'a so it sucks that he won't get good ball.
We haven't won a game for 8 weeks now. Since the Storm smashed us 64-0, performances have improved but no wins. We probably won't make the 8, but this group needs a win, they must be struggling emotionally dealing with so many losses.

With the halves, I hope the plan is for Luai 6 and Fainu 7. I mean, it probably doesn’t matter these days, but let Fainu be the organiser and let Luai be himself.

Thank you. Sometimes I think I’m going mad reading some posts 😂

Mason is the favourite player of old blokes that don’t know modern rugby league. Tigers fans that still probably argue over Balmain v Wests, how much orange is on our jersey and how big the magpie is on the shoulder.

Just because he ‘runs hard and busts his ass’ doesn’t mean he’s a good player.

At fullback he’s scared of a high ball and can’t organise the defence.

At five eighth he’s the most selfish half in the comp. I swear I’ve hardly seen him pass when we get good ball and shift to our back line on his side. Without fail you’ll see a big right foot step and the play is dead.

We haven’t seen him defend in the middle so I don’t think he’s a bench utility just yet.

He’s an average player that will end up exactly like Kurtis Rowe unless he improves multiple aspects of his game and starts to play that Connor Watson role - best case scenario as he won’t be taking spots off Jahream, Jarome or Latu.

we have to roll them early. their starting pack is atrocious, but their bench could very easily swing momentum with Bullemor, Brown and Sipley all due to come off the pine.

knock the door off it's hinges and there's a game to be won.
