I hope benji stays. I think both his & brooks' game would benefit by playing in the halves together next year.
Looking at the team now, brooks & Moses are unproven in 1st grade & Siro, despite playing well, is inexperienced & probably better suited to a backrow spot.
I think we need to hang on to benji for at least the next 2-3 years not only to mentor the young halves coming up but also to give him a chance to shine with a proper halfback.
That being said, IF brooks kills it in 1st grade next year & benji were to leave, then I'd still be happy with a Siro/brooks combo in the halves. Still too many ifs for my liking tho.

I don't know Benji and I dont know Tauber, but you can bet that Tauber is worried about Benji being able to extend his deal past 2015 if he waits until then, let alone for more $$$, given the Tigers have 2 very promising juniors who will be ready to go by then. Tauber is trying to get the best for his client, and the side effect is all this crap right now that we are dealing with. Any smart manager would probably do as Tauber is doing, including setting up a few links with other clubs and rugby, but as fans we are forced to endure the soap opera.

If Luke Brooks has a good start to 2014 all the media is going to be buzzing about him and Benji wont get all the attention. To most people in Benji's situation that would be a huge positive - he could focus on his game, the benefit he would receive from having a good half playing beside him and on playing a mentoring role. Unfortunately I don't think Benji sees it that way.
I would love to see Benji follow Lockyer's lead on how to 'age gracefully' in rugby league.

Benji is playing himself out of a contract and talking himself into one. Maybe he should do the opposite shut up and play!
i have really mixed feelings about this. Benji is a sub par footballer, let alone playmaker (which he shouldn't be)at the moment. He has been like this for a while now. i want a 5/8 that can't get run down by props, doesn't throw the ball over the side line, doesn't force passes that we don't need, that can find touch from a penalty.
BUT i don't want to see the bloke in another jersey for what ever reason. its really hard he isn't a shadow of the player he was. And i fear he is only going to get worse. i believe the guy is over the hill and has nothing new to offer. (i honetly hope he makes me eat my words)in the sharks game last night he was worst on the field hands down.
Last night when Sue offloaded, ok it went forward but Benji still dropped it, he is a ball running 5/8 with terrible hands., but hey he is still better than i could ever be and probably most of us on the forum. good luck to him and the club what ever happens. i love the tigers but dont want to see benji in a different jersey but i feel at the moment he will leave. to try and blame his poor form on the club
