I think he's still got a bench spot. If Matulino and Packer are the starting front row with Lawrence and Mcqueen on the edges. I think Sue, Grant, Masters and Aloiai are a likely bench, with one dropping off if we keep us this interchange hooker business. Felise seems to be out of favour; not sure why.

Souths actually want him back? They cut him and payed part of his wages and he is older and more ineffective now.

Tim Grant has done a good job for us. Some games less effective than others but he has been a decent first change prop. That being said, I would prefer that he be elsewhere next year as I think his money can be better spent in his position.

He's certainly tried hard for us, but nowhere near the force he was at the Panthers in his younger years. If he moves on next season, all the best to him. If he sticks around, he's good for depth, if not a bench spot.

If he leaves we will definitely need to sign another prop, as well as a second rower - I wonder who we might target next? What do people think about Ofahengaue from the Broncos? He's off contract. Shame we missed out on Guerra for a second row spot.
Tim Grant open to leaving Wests Tigers if he can’t get a long-term NRL deal

TIM Grant has refused to rule out leaving if he can’t secure a long-term deal with the Wests Tigers in the coming weeks.
Grant has an option in his favour to remain at the Tigers in 2018, but he would prefer to commit to a longer contract so he’s prepared to part ways with the joint-venture club to prolong his career at another team.
“A one-year contract in the NRL is pretty short, so at my age I’m looking for a longer term deal,” Grant told The Daily Telegraph.
“I’ve got an option in my favour here at the Tigers, but in saying that I’m looking for a bit of security.
“I’ve got to touch base with the Tigers and see what is happening here first and if not, probably look elsewhere.
“I’m 29 and my body feels as good as it has ever been.
“I still love the game and I want to play. I’ll be doing what is right for myself.
“If that’s staying at the Tigers I’d love that, but in saying that I need more security than a one-year deal. We’ll see what happens.”
Grant has enjoyed a mixed season. A hamstring injury has restricted him to 12 games, while the Tigers have been plagued by off-field dramas.
Grant believes the tough times have helped him become a better leader for the team’s younger players.
“I’ve been in situations like this before out at Penrith, so I’ve seen it all before,” he said.
“But I’ve really enjoyed trying to influence the young guys and getting them through it.
“I’m proud the way the young guys have handled it here at the Tigers.
“Moving forward we are in good stead here. The young guys have got experience they probably wouldn’t have got, which is always a good thing.
“It’s hard for the fans going through the tough times now, but I’m sure there is a bright future ahead.”
Grant says he’ll leave if he doesn’t get a long-term deal.
Grant is also working hard to forge a bright career for himself in business.
He is completing his real estate licence in a bid to secure his post-football future.
“It’s something I really enjoy and moving into life after footy it is an avenue I’d like to explore, maybe in a business aspect,” he said.
“I really enjoy interacting with people and influencing people, so if there is an opportunity at another club I think that is an attribute I can bring.
“I do one or two days a week on the real estate course. It’s something I enjoy and I’ll probably go onto further studies next year.
“It’s something that I always keep an eye on. But I just like interacting with people and communicating.”
