Tim Grant

Also the reduced interchange will kill him even more. He's got a smaller engine than keithy, and given his average form with 10 interchanges you can only see him getting worse from here…

I'm guessing each club will review their training regime to fit the new rules against their roster.

Bottom line is that we are a decent prop short going into 2016 (even if we resign Ava, which I believe we will).

Looking at who may be available at this stage of the season, we don't have much to chose from besides Grant or Mason.

Neither excite me, but one of them is going to be better than being a prop short all year.

Willie Mason would be OK for a year. Played well for Manly this year. Not a loose cannon any more. Could be a good mentor for young forwards like Lovett if Robbie leaves when we'll be very thin on the ground for experience

Ability wise is great, but another very strong personality, that may conflict with Taylor's style.

I can't see it happening.

Tim Grant reminds me a bit of Ryan O'Hara.
played good for a while, but not consistently able to get to that standard again.
Shame though, a lot of un- tapped ability

Probably right. Hadn't factored in the strong personality thing. Fairly apparent that JT is one of those "my way or the highway" types

If this is the calibre that Taylor wants to be brought to the club he defiantly will be looking for a job next year!

With the money available next yr, would there be any players the club can afford that are higher calibre?

See what he does for 2017 when he most likely be able to recruit who he wants.

Does anyone see anything that Grant has that Ava doesn't have and more at less than half the price? This is not the sort of guy we need moving forward and IMO Grant on around the same price Galloway offered more. We'd be taking a step backwards signing Grant.

I would be looking elsewhere this is where a good recruitment person helps there are plenty out there ..just have to find them it is not always about money.

Bang on, mate. Ava has immense upside and has already shown his growing ability this year, Tim Grant is living on the coat tails of knocking over Petero in his Origin debut. Keefy offers much more and it'd be an absolute travesty if this is anything other than an unsubstantiated rumour.

x 2
grant is one of a few severely over-rated sowfs forwards ( along with a couple of their backs ) that were shown up for what they really were yesterday.
tim grant a big 'no thanks' from me. he aint a pinch on ava.

Have to agree with the majority on Grant,I watched the Sharks/Souths game and Grant didn't impress me at all as a key forward…I think he offers little compared to Ava....
