I wouldn't mind seeing the Beauster getting a crack at fullback. He's played a couple games there in the past and has killed it everytime.

Beau has been very 'mixed' when playing fullback. He's done some good things but has had a few clangers as well. (Perhaps you can remember back to the bomb he spilled that led to a try late in a game costing us the 2 points). I think there will be better options for us in the number 1.

Yeti are you talking about the Anasta try because I still reckon that wasn't a try Anasta interfered with Beau after he dropped it .

It should've been a Tigers penalty imo

Totally fair try that Anasta one! But that was an incredible bomb from carney I think it was, kicked a huge torpedo bomb from 40m away, was a dubious task for the greatest fullback..
Wouldn't blame beau for that he did his best, certainly wouldn't judge his performance at fullback on that

Beau makes me nervous at fullback ever since that Souths game where he saved that 40/20….
I think we are taking backwards steps from Moltzen if we play Ryan or Brown at fullback. If thats what we're going to do we may as well keep Moltzen back there and play Miller at half.

Playing miller at half is a step backwards from moltzen too… Moltz is our best fullback AND halfback now, but the team is better off with brown/reddy at fullback rather than miller at halfback

I think we've seen the best of Moltzen at halfback, and it wasn't too bad. I don't think we've seen the best of Moltzen at fullback though… he was definitely on the improve at the back end of last season.

And we've definitely not seen the best of Miller at NRL halfback. He wasn't given free reign in his couple of runs last season, but judging by his form when playing NYC with the full strength squad he was deserving of the NYC halfback of the year.

Miller has two very important natural attributes for halfback that Moltzen does not: he is a good kicker of the football and not afraid to organise. And thirdly, he is extremely confident! (apparently something Sheens is not keen on from what's being said here?)

So for me it should be Miller at halfback - given the same opportunity and patience that was afforded Lui during his development - and Moltzen at fullback until Tedesco is a little older, say another season. By then we should have a clearer picture of where Moltzen fits into the team and whether these two young guns are as good as they seem.

Hey Tigerkaz,
Like your positive comments about Sheens. Watch the opinions about him go through 360 degrees this year…....from Saint to Sinner in a week.

Its mind boggling that its hard to fit in these gun players and we still have so many options!!

Our back depth is incredible this year.

i'm that sort of person, i see the glass half full. That's why i've stuck with the Tigers for 30 years. Many people would have ditched them. Not us positive people. I'm sure that poor old sheensy will be called all sorts of things by alot of people this year as we are now the favs to take out the title(that's not good). It's a jinx if you ask me, but he can only do his best the rest is up to the players.

I agree mate. I was at that game and as soon as I saw it go up I thought there would be less than a handful of fullbacks in the entire history of the game who would have taken it cleanly. That bomb was almost perfect. As for the try….I called a fair one on the day so I will stick with that.

For mine Beau goes well at the back.

I'm not sure we will resign Moltzen past 2012.

The first 6 weeks of the comp will be very interesting, if we don't go well we could see plenty of maneuvering around the 1 and 7.

Yeah the pressure will certainly be on and a lot of attention will be headed this kids way from us fans and the wider RL community. I think he finished 2011 quite well so I think he will hit the ground running and do well.

that is very probable. with so many good players on the roster i don't think anyone besides Robbie and Benji are safe in any position.

Miller whilst an adequate halfback from what we have seen in first grade is overzealous in defensive positional play.

I think,Blair,Ellis,Lawrence and Galloway are as safe as Farah, but yeh you are right,Moltzen has to perform or rightly be moved on for Miller,Chisholm or Humble.

i would say Lawrence, Ellis and blair would be pretty certain to retain their spots aswell.

I more confident with Moltzen at halfback. I'd be a bit concerned with any other halfback. I think its the right way to start the season.

The fullback has to not only have all the natural aspects of a traditional fullback - good hands, good positioning in attack and D and confidence in organising the defensive line, but he aslo needs to be able to chime into the attack. This is something that neither Ryan or Brown have shown to be a strong part of their game. I dont think Reddy is that type of fullback either. Maybe Grant and maybe Humble, but from all reports this is an area Tedesco excells in.

All the good teams have a fullback that lurks behind the ruck and glides along behind the backline looking to cut into the play as an extra man or running the line break. Think Slater, Stewart, Bowen and when we won the comp - Hodgson.

Tedesco looks to be the best candidate imo assuming he is mentally and physically ready for the big time, but only a string of FG games will determine this.

The one thing I think needs to happen is Sheens needs to make his selections in the 7 and 1 and stick with them for a few weeks to a month atleast. I'd hate to see us falling into the trap of having to much depth to settle on any given combination. No player should be un-droppable but they do need more than a couple of consecutive games to determine their value in that position.

Tedesco is a good fullback & he will develop into a top fullback, but i am sure they will bring him along slowly. Sheens wont rush the kid he will give him a game here & there i think thats the way he works.
