Tim Sheens and Playing squad deserves praise

I've never been one to heap praise on the coach over the years. However 6 weeks ago after we lost to Parramatta in a shambolic performance, off field rumours spreading like wildfire. He was bagged in the media and we were under the pump. He held his nerve and backed his judgement when many might have made mass changes or changed tact. He got quite fired up at that press conference, and he stuck by his players. Many of us probably doubted him, however the last 6 weeks our focus and our intensity has been excellent

We have been playing for each other despite the fact players are leaving at years end. I sensed the bond was strong last season and this year even more. The way we have eeked out close wins, that is not a fluke. Jut like when we lost all the 2 point decisions from 2006-2009\. Were mentally tougher and a tighter group. They obviously respect the coach and the jersey Many other clubs would have folded over and had a season similar to the Roosters or Canberra had they had to deal with the same amount of injuries and rumours surrounding the club.

If we finish with 15 wins, and finish 4th it will be a great effort by all concerned considering the issues we have had, and from there I have no doubt we will make the Prelim Final at least. Slowly this club is turning itself into a consistently winning outfit, with a tougher mind set and a winning attitude, it is a playing group to be proud of these days.

Sheens is a great coach to have at this time of year. We look confident and relaxed, with a pride in our defence and that is when we play our best football. We are going to be VERY hard to beat in the finals.

Couldn't agree more mate, I actually didn't rule out the possibility of the SPOON after that woeful performance against Parramatta last time and the way we've come together since then is a credit to all involved. I must though make a special mention of Bryce Gibb's commitment throughout that time. He is one of many leaving next year and instead of not taking it seriously (like many players do when they know they are leaving a club) he has put his head down, bum up and is playing some of the best football of his career.

Yes your not on your own with knocking sheens on here eddie. You gave him a much deserved wrap for a change.

I have not bagged him much since 2009\. I said mid season they just had to keep batting at 50% and the winning streak would come at the back end. Sheens Has raised the clubs ambition since 2009\. We have chased better players in the market. He has talked about a "stuff the process just find a way to win" attitude. Were a much tougher footy side then we were a couple of years ago.

Sheens is very very consistent, loyal and staunch, sometimes to his and his teams detriment.
I guess his winning % (around 50%) reflects this.
However its two very good seasons in a row, and credit must be given where its due.
Im getting very excited with the slow & steady improvement of Moltzen and Lui…the juniors of the spine.
Hold on tight!
