Feel free to gimme a call Sheensy. Anytime after 10am on weekdays.

Your dead set serious arn't you…........ 😱pen_mouth:

Tim Sheens didn't drop the ball with the line wide open against the Storm that was Daine Laurie - 2 points.
Tim Sheens didn't rule no try when Skandalis legally stripped the ball against the Broncos - 2 points.
Tim Sheens didn't fall asleep when we led Souths by 12 then let them back in the game at the SCG - 2 points. (Sorry he did err by putting Mataka into the game who dropped the ball which led to Souths coming back - as i think there have been a few people on this forum blowing his trumpet)

There is 6 comp points you can't blame Sheens for. Add six points we finish on 34 comp points and we would be still watching Wests this weekend and weeing in Mr Sheens pocket.

typical arrogant egotistical rant.
this guy really is a megalomaniac who can find an excuse for anything.

oh but wait up it's not his fault it's the players, injuries, ref, fans, wind, sun got in my eyes etc.
Excuses are valid for 1 maybe 2 seasons but not the run of incompetence he has demonstrated.

As i stated earlier in the year, WT were never in the hunt for making the playoffs( the F/A is ALWAYS the clear indicator)

I agree that for and against is a good indication of your ability to make the play offs, but our for and against was reasonable this year. Apart from the opening rounds, we were never touched up and we lost 4 games by less than 2 points. These are the 4 games that hurt us, in particular the Souths game at the SCG.

Therefore, I disagree with your comments that we were never in the hunt for the finals. We were in the race up to our necks. Our formline was actually quite strong if you look how Parramatta has progressed since beating us (it was 4 tries all).

5….. We need to go from a flamboyant side to a grinding side.....

I'm Surprised no one is making a fuss about this. This would be a BIG change for the Tigers, for years we've been all out attack (And IMO, a mentally weak side). With the signing of Folkes, who is noted for coaching boring sides with a tough attitude, perhaps we will see a change in 2010 after all? (In style at least)

agreed fully, sheens gets so much crap on here but when it comes down to it the players take the field they are responsible
its not sheens that tells them to lose ,we were in the comp all this year we just couldnt win the close ones
we have a 50% win record and a great for and against
i know it sucks missing the finals again but i still feel this year was more of a rebuilding phase as is the next
2011 will be our year :righton:

Whilst I agree with a lot of that,Sheens had Morris in the halves in the Souths game,a first grade half would have taken control and played field position and kicked a field goal at 12 up with under 15 to go.
So I do lay a fair chunk of blame for that loss on sheens,Laurie lost the Melbourne game, and bad luck and poor judgement cost us 2 more.

Tim Sheens didnt kick the field goal against Manly giving us a 1 point win
Tim Sheens didnt score 2 tries against Melbourne at Leichhardt and hold them out for set after set
Tim Sheens didn't tackle Minichello over the sideline to stop a certain try that would have put the Roosters ahead

you can't have it both ways mate…

Unless I'm missing your point… this makes no sense as a counter-argument

I understand the point…..... He only ever takes credit for the good things then makes up every excuse in the book for the bad ones.

Bad luck, injuries, dumb plays, refs calls , bounce of the ball etc happen to all teams…but over a period of time the good coaches have contingency plans for most setbacks,
& luck sorts itself out.
Weve now had 4 years of these excuses/explanations/rationalisations,just like the Cowboys heard just before he joined the Tigers.
No doubt Sheens has a certain talent, but after 8 years at the club I think its time he took it elsewhere & allowed us a fresh start in a new direction

A coach's job involves three things IMHO:

1\. Preparation;
2\. In-game Tactics;
3\. Selection.

This year the Tiges played very well in most games. Many of the games we lost we were the better team, it was execution that let us down in most cases. On that basis I think we can say Sheens passes point 1\. In respect of 2, Sheens is, in my view, the best tactical coach in the game. I honestly believe no coach has changed the way the game has been played as much as Sheens as over the last 20 years. 2005 was an amazing achievement in coaching. In respect of 3, Sheens does deserve criticism here at times. However, at the end of the day not once this year did the selection of Morris in the halves cost us a game.

It comes down to the fact that this year we looked like contenders and whilst we didnt get the prize in some games this doesnt necessarily reflect on the coaching. I will get the usual criticism that this is just excuses.

Willow, can we get a block feature on this forum. I am getting too long in the tooth for a lot of the negativity around here.

I agree with all that southern and yes the negativity in this forum is unbelievable at times.

I always thought if marshall and farah played most of our games we would make the 8 but as we know they didnt but our defence has improved and we ended up on a positive for and against for the first time since 05.

We could be doing what parra are doing with just 1 of those games we lost by 2.

I think he's saying you can't give Sheens credit for the good things that happened this year if you're going to absolve him of the blame for all the bad things.

If thats what he meant then its completely untrue. You can say as much negative stuff about somebody as you want, but credit where its due.
