Tim Sheens plays down James Tedesco hype

I reckon if the kid is good enough now, he should get a go Rd 1\. I'd rather try now and see if he's up to it, than gamble mid-season.

Otherwise Teddy will only get a run due to injury or poor form. No point starting the season with an experienced custodian, just to hook him at random point to give a kid a run.

I hope Teddy is ready,if not then Reddy should get the gig.
Benji said in an interview I watched the other day,he expected Teddy to be in the 1 for the start of the season, had big wraps on him.

I think Tedesco will get the gig from round 1, the coach has talked him up as have the players, but I'm keen to see how he performs against the chooks before making a definitive prediction.

Who ever runs out for the second half of the Foundation Cup should give us a fair indication of who will be full back in round 1
If Sheensy is not going to go with Teddy, surely he has to give Reddy or Co. some game time before we face Cronulla.

You would think there is less pressure on a young kid at the start of the season wouldn't you… furthest away from the finals as your going to get round 1...

Tedesco ,humble and Reddy won't know if there coming or going.they'll probably end up on the bench and get the usual 3 mins of game time at the 77 min mark whether we are behind on the score board or not. State cup one week bench the next its the Sheens way..

When we signed Reddy my first thought was fullback and i think he's the way to go at this point.
As good as Ted might end up it would be silly to have a player like Reddy not in the side or on the bench, he's a solid experienced first grader who i'm sure would handle fullback no problem.

Tiger rat, ofcourse the players themselves know if they're coming or going! U think because sheens doesn't share his thoughts with us that he doesn't share them with the players? Please! All the players concerned would know where they stand!

I'm happy for the coach to name James at fullback round one and I do think he has a big future in the NRL, I hope he's a brilliant success.

What I do know however is he is as green as they come and whacking him into a vital position like fullback at this stage is a massive gamble.

Personally I would take all the pressure off him and bring him in slowly.

I don't think the fact Reddy hasn't played fullback for four years is really that much of an issue - I would go for him.

1\. Reddy
2\. Utai
3\. Lawrence
4\. Ayshford
5\. Ryan

That's a strong and experienced backline, you could then have Brown as the back on the bench.

Whether it is Round 1 in 2012 or Round 22 in 2014 he has to start somewhere and he will be nervous in his debut and age won't change that He is going to be the future at fullback and hopefully his future starts round 1 Sheens I think has made up his mind barring a shocker against the Roosters
