As long as he doesn't have too much sway with what Madge does. The last thing needed is a fly in the ointment. I have my fingers crossed that Marshall isn't the next one to show up.

I disagree. The more oversight of Maguire the better. If he doesn't like it, he is free to move on. Win win for WTs.

Thats not a win for anyone. Thats showing no trust in the person that you've entrusted initially to get the job done. Nobody can work under those conditions effectively.

Maybe well played Pascoe? Having Sheens aboard is a big improvement for our club. I can envisage him having a fatherly chat to our younger players just to impart his experience. That has to be good for WTs.

Im not saying theres no upside, but suggesting he should be keeping an eye on the coach - which I think is what you're getting at is a disaster waiting to happen.

If the powers that be were completely satisfied with what Madge was doing, Sheens role would not be required IMO.

I agree with this comment. Mentor, coaching director or whatever you chose to name it, there must be concern where it counts.

Sheens will strengthen his position.

Pascoe?

I don't know the answer but that is critical in this set up moving forward. I had a fairly good understanding of how it worked with our 3 main guys at the club, but this really complicates that and if their is not a real clear structure for the lines of communication and responisibilities this could get messy. 4 people wanting input and to be providing direction can be difficult, that is not even including the Chairman.

Think sheens would just help us keep the ones we should keep and hopefully stop a BJ or musgrove signing. Can’t afford these errors in the nrl

Board

See that is the thing you can't have 4 people reporting to the board, it doesn't work well.

Yeah you probably right reports to ceo who reports to board both I guess.

So he probably has immense respect for Sheens.

Madge was interviewed earlier this year and was asked about who were the biggest influences in his coaching career and he said that Sheens was. Madge said he has always stayed in close touch with Sheens to get advice.

I reckon they will work well together. There is obviously a lot or respect between the two.

I might one out here, but I'm not a fan of it. Yes he has the runs on the board, but didn't he take the club to court after it sacked him for poor performances, selection issues and I sort of remember rumors of him trying to influence/gain control of the board. His track record since heading to pommy land have been middling.
"A sounding board for the players", that's a strange term, the players have Madge and his assistants, they're the coaching staff, having an alternate option, I feel will dilute Madge's authority/influence/message. I'm not Madge's biggest fan, but while he has the job, its his show. If Madge needs anything its decent assistant coaches.
I don't know just feels odd.

The way it seems to me to currently run is you have Justin Pascoe as CEO with a focus on the admin side of the organistion, then just under him you have Adam Hartigan as General Manager of Football who is responsible for the football side of things, from my dealings with the club Madge seems to be under Hartigan. So where Sheens fits in this structure becomes important, if he is sitting under Hartigan and responsible for the pathways etc then that probably works well and he then has Kimmorley and the other new guy working below him. With this many ego and highly motivated people under one roof it is important to get these things right and clear to everyone.

If we have this right we just need to then improve the structure on the admin and commercial side of the business.

What’s the current structure now? Who reports to who?

Just above, I was writing how I think that currently works as you posted lol.

Sorry I just saw your post and then deleted mine as it answered it

Strange comment to make, as though your trying not to offend Madge.

Side note

- Badger and Tahu were appointed via the Wests Tigers Foundation (Mentioned by General Lee last night)

I think it's to make publically clear that Sheens isn't in charge of madge. Gotta do that or the telegraph "articles" the next day will twist it.

I'd be very interested to see the new Hierarchical structure, I have a pretty good understanding of how it stood before today.

Do you reckon Sheens will report to Hartigan?

That is where I would put him, I really don't know but these things need to be clear. I think Hartigan is working very well in the club and would be very reluctant to diminish his influence and involvement.

Yeah I would have him reporting to Hartigan. It’s great to have Sheens back in the fold but Hartigan has set us on a course and I do not want to see his role diminished.

General Manager of football is above this new role they made up..

I doubt also Sheens would report to Hartigan as such...more Sheens the Consultant..

Anyway ..I think it will work...PR wise it's already a massive hit with the fans even facebook one's

Floater suggests a degree of autonomy and is a wonderfully flexible role description.

ATM the system sems to be building fine. If it in't broke why are we fixing it? I'm not against Sheens coming back but..........

Have you seen how many games we won this year. More support across everything the better,

We have been in most games, 4 games have been decided by 4 points or less. We could easily have won another 3 of those which would have put us equal with chooks on the ladder.

Yes would of....

Hahaha, yes, my point is that we’re closer than the number of wins alone suggest. Sure, you could argue that every season we have a few close games, but doesn’t this year look different?
