As long as he doesn't have too much sway with what Madge does. The last thing needed is a fly in the ointment. I have my fingers crossed that Marshall isn't the next one to show up.

I disagree. The more oversight of Maguire the better. If he doesn't like it, he is free to move on. Win win for WTs.

Thats not a win for anyone. Thats showing no trust in the person that you've entrusted initially to get the job done. Nobody can work under those conditions effectively.

Maybe well played Pascoe? Having Sheens aboard is a big improvement for our club. I can envisage him having a fatherly chat to our younger players just to impart his experience. That has to be good for WTs.

Im not saying theres no upside, but suggesting he should be keeping an eye on the coach - which I think is what you're getting at is a disaster waiting to happen.

If the powers that be were completely satisfied with what Madge was doing, Sheens role would not be required IMO.

And all this time, I thought you were a Madge believer? Surely after the last month, your faith has been reinforced?

I am very happy we’ve won our last two games, it’s been a while since that’s happened. The two wins don’t change my overall view though. I don’t think Madge can succeed on his own, but I think he might with Sheens there.

Sheens will be involved with pathways, not NRL coaching.

According to Pascoe it’s a floating role across the whole football department.

Ps - I wasn’t the one that downvoted you

Is it similar to a frank ponesi role

I think it’s a mix of what frank and Gould does he will have his hands in development

People firing off sheenius and naming their team list is sad and inaccurate the bloke managed this football club at its darkest days operationally and in terms of money was running on empty fumes and did a fine job and gave us all great memories.

Show some respect.

That's exactly what I see the position is. The NRL coach has enough on his plate without having to manage the coaching staff of every division and age group below as well as the women's program.

You also don't really want the NRL coach to report directly to a CEO, who by rights should be experienced at running the business side not the football team. Having a football person overseeing the entire football department and creating development pathways and being a mentor for all of the coaches across all grades is a necessity in the modern professional game.

This is what Gus has been doing for years, Ponisi also and is what clubs have been chasing Bellamy and Bennett to do post their current NRL coaching jobs

Under our current structure I don't believe the coach reports directly to the ceo.

“Tim can also be a sounding board for Madge if Madge wants that,” Pascoe said.

Strange comment to make, as though your trying not to offend Madge.

Side note

- Badger and Tahu were appointed via the Wests Tigers Foundation (Mentioned by General Lee last night)

I think it's to make publically clear that Sheens isn't in charge of madge. Gotta do that or the telegraph "articles" the next day will twist it.

Madge would be a fool if he didn't ask Tim a question or two

why 95 kgs props that were formerly centres

Wingers on the bench for 77 minutes

Why excuses aren't reasons

How many dressing rooms will we need

Should we get Roycie back for the Feng Shui of the COE

Will he get invited to the bingo nights

Power cord for the Fax machine for teams

Should he call Tim Sheenius or the Fonz

What are Tim's KPI's ??

Covers everything

More importantly, what colour should we paint the COE?

Mission Brown

Just don’t expect the team lists at 4pm on the Tuesday's if Sheens is doing it ..

More like 4:10-4:15

I agree with this comment. Mentor, coaching director or whatever you chose to name it, there must be concern where it counts.

Will be good sounding board for Madge too. Like someone commented on all ready our defensive structure and team selections were not working at the start of the year I’d expect if sheens was already with us it would his job to identify the problems and work with Madge to fix it.

That’s one part and his help with junior identification and commercial can only be a good think if they are all working in the same direction.

Have you seen how many games we won this year. More support across everything the better,

We have been in most games, 4 games have been decided by 4 points or less. We could easily have won another 3 of those which would have put us equal with chooks on the ladder.

Yes would of....

I don't know the answer but that is critical in this set up moving forward. I had a fairly good understanding of how it worked with our 3 main guys at the club, but this really complicates that and if there is not a real clear structure for the lines of communication and responsibilities this could get messy. 4 people wanting input and to be providing direction can be difficult, that is not even including the Chairman.
