Tim Sheens

Also i haven't seen Fifita run sideways once this yr. How come a second yr coach can get that out of his game, but a 600 game, 4 premiership winning supercoach can't?

Yep….supercoach.
Fafita is smashing blokes and scoring tries.
Blair bumps and pushes fellas and gives away penalties.

It gets depressing watching former tigers players killing it for other clubs . The list of talented players sheens has let go must be massive .

T4E you have officially become in this thread to Sheens to what CK is to Moltzen, his knight in shining armour who you will defend against every single negative comment posted. You're fighting a losing battle on here as everyone on this forum wether they love him or hate would all agree that Sheens methods do have some degree of lunacy. You on the other hand wouldn't criticise him if he ran over your cat

I agree your never going to agree with any coach and their decisions….your right im outnumbered.....but i love a fight....your mentioning fafita who has had 1 good game all year as a point.lol

I sadly have a bit of time this weekend there's plenty of sheen threads i don't bother with....heck there 2 or 3 every week isnt there.

This is all you talk about though this whole forum is all about 1 guy and a few other chosen ones that cop a bashing as well like blair moltzen etc

im sick to death of all this negativity,Fair enough if it was like that when we won 7 in a row but it was very very quiet..i think that what annoys me more

Have any of you ever praised him once it goes both ways

im sick to death of all this negativity,

yet you keep coming back, time after time after time….its ALL you ever do.

Dont crap on....you LOVE it

....but i love a fight\.......

You even contradict yourself.

:crazy

you telling me im contradicting myself ..,.now that's the ink i know on here hypocritical as ever.

Actually my post number would suggest i dont come back all the time…as usual your near the top like the old forum as well(when you were moderator how good was that) ...sticking your nose in everything and trying to make a goose out of people where ever you could then when i gave you a bit of your own medicine you banned me or put me on mod review or deleted post....how childish was that

And as usual i have the pack against me.

why do you come on here...is this forum just for people that want to whinge and whine or vent negativity is it.

I didn't watch the Sharks game yesterday but Fifita hasn't done much at all this year and for the money the Sharks paid him, I don't blame Sheens at all for letting him go.

Recruitment and retention is not easy and as much as everyone would love to, we can't keep them all. Time will tell if Keeping Woods and Groat ahead of Fifita is the right call but so far I can't say we've really missed Fifita. Gibbs is a different story.

I supported the signing of Blair so I can't blame Sheens for that one either. Blair has underperformed massively but the fault lies with him.

My gripe with Sheens has always been about team selection and bench use. I just think the place needs a new, fresh change.

Pretty much this.

Tim Sheens can coach, he has done some amazing things as a coach.

However as a co-operative effort I think Tim Sheens and Wests Tigers has past it's expiry date. Players are too comfortable knowing there is no consequences for repeated, in fact new contracts are given.

I think a point will be proven in regard to the stale nature of the relationship when we eventually hear news that Lote has been signed for another season

Whilst I think we have been hammered by injuries, particularly this year, I have resigned myself to the fact that a new coach is probably not a bad idea (depending on who of course).

I have supported Sheens as coach on here, and I do so because the 5% of stuff that we know goes on, there is 95% of stuff that goes on behind the scenes that we don't. I think Sheens on his past record has earned my trust. Of course there are just a few on here that think they know everything about everyone, including ridiculously over inflated price tags for some players. There are also some that have an agenda and that's fine. This is a forum and everyone has an opinion.

All that aside, my question is this. If people believe Sheens has outstayed his welcome here (and remember, I am now leaning toward that myself), why are people making either personal or borderline personal attacks on the man and his integrity?

(And before you make the sarcastic 'past record' comments such as how many finals series he has not taken us to etc, and how I accept mediocrity, I'm talking his overall playing and coaching career.)

If I had to guess it would be because of a level of frustration which has built up over the same pattern seemingly repeating for so many years of his tenure with zero change.

I believe the level of anger etc has risen on this occasion as well with the continued unwillingness to play a halfback at halfback seemingly to prove a point he made about Benji always being our halfback. It really was an insult to anyone who has watched Wests Tigers play football

I believe his main issue is his inability to improve players. We have guys in state cup that have the ability to be first grade players but we don't seem to bring them on. The only obvious exception is Woods who is progressing well. Everingham is a case in point.

He seems to have coached the footballer out of Benji, whom has never hit the heights expected of him. Could he resent his career later in life because he played with us?

True andrew fifita is not doing much anways who cares about him tbh.

Knowing you, you'd be singing a different tune if he were wearing a Tigers jersey. He'd be a world beater no doubt

Definitely, as well as his recruitment.
It comes down to the fact that he is stubborn and is set on Benji being a halfback and choosing his 5/8 out of the first graders who are current.

And definitely yes. I hope not though
He could have had a good year if he was 5/8 and Tim was left at halfback.

I remember just about every single person on this forum exploding because Moltzen started the year at halfback…..

I still think that is his best position. Is he the best at that position, No. But I think it is HIS best position.

Unlike others my expectation at the start of each year are never for a top four finish. Iam realistic enough to know that their are so many things that have to go your way for this to happen and they are usually out of the coaches control, injuries, ref calls just bad bounces at critical times and probably the main thing it is a team sport so no matter how good one player is going dosnt matter, its how they go together as a unit.

BUT

When a team from day one under performs and continues to under perform for the greater part of the season questions have to be asked of the coach and the playing group

Couldn't agree more.
