This Is A Respone From Grant Mayer When Asked Last Night

Jack Garner ‏@JackGarner1 20h
Scared by the rumours linking Simona to the Sharks! we have to hold on to him @gcmayer @Wests_Tigers

Grant Mayer ‏@gcmayer 14h
@JackGarner1 rumour

I Hope It Isn't.

This Is The Response I Got From The Mole When I Asked The Question.

Jordan Prime ‏@PrimeO 12h
@RLW_Mole Tigers would be mad to let Simona go after his recent performances. Tell me its not true !

The Mole ‏@RLW_Mole 9h
@PrimeO Sorry, Jordy.

He has been great the past month,but come 2014 will he get a starting gig???IMO he should but in reality he probably will not. You cant keep them all and the players already on bigger contracts will get first crack,rightly or wrongly

Hope it's not true but with koro and pat Richards coming and sharks need a gun centre I guess it's good for both parties :frowning: hope it's not true!

The mole usually has no clue, so I don't know how much stock to take in this.

If he does go it will be a huge shame, I'd have him in the centres next year with Richards or Lawrence with Nofo and Koro on the wings. Ayshford to bench/second row.

Mole comes up with lots of crap. Rumour would have had more weight if Moley had started it rather than a fan asking him and he says 'maybe, its possible'…

I'd be against any more of our players joining the Sharks full stop. They have enough already. Hate watching them play now. If we have to watch them play for other clubs at least make it NZ, or NQ so it's not in our face so much.

I would suspect his status at the tigers has jumped to new heights in recent weeks. Meaning if the club was previously luke warm on Simona that would now have changed and he would now be a higher priority for the club than he was 6 weeks ago. Unless the Sharks had already agreed a deal i'd say we're a good chance of having him stay.

Can sharks find there own players all they do is steal players from us but on thing is they wont win a comp with our players lol btw i dont think his leaving hopfully we lock him up long term.

THe one thing that worries me is our past , we have a history of letting gold go and keeping the lead

Past being the keyword. New coach. New CEO.

Re-signing Farah, Keith, Boz, taking up extension options on Ava, Sue, Gavet, Koro. Mayer stating that Santi, Lovett, Brooks, Moses, Luani are in the process of being tied up.

Not bending over backwards for Benji and endangering our ability to keep Brooks & Moses.

Despite being linked to over-the-hill duds like Halatau, Kingston, Poore, Maitua etc. the club went out and signed Taupau.

Haven't really put a foot wrong in regards to recruitment/retention since they've taken charge.

That sharky14 on the Cronulla forum who is starting/spreading the rumour reminds me of somebody on here… Someone who likes to post 1000s of possible lineup combinations, because that's what that Sharky bloke is doing.

They even sound similar in their posts.

Simona has been very good in the last month, but you cant keep them all, if we happen to lose him, it will be a little disappointing but not the end of the world.

Even he goes elsewhere and carves out a good career, i reckon we will have enough in the outside backs to be satisfied, we wont regret it too much.

Seriously? How can you say we wont regret it? He has been one of the few major highs in the last 12 weeks - has won us two games at least - big big blow if he goes.

Here we go again. Just rumours for God's sake.

Stay off the net for a while and get a life.

It was something i only came across yesterday which i thought i'd share, this is the 1st topic i've ever posted.
I Know it's a rumour just thought i'd let people know its out there.

Fact is Mayer has said it is a rumor . At this stage the sharks may well be interested but that doesn't mean much. Would suspect Simona would prefer to stay and would only move on if the club admitted he'd be better off moving on. Not too worried about it….yet.
