Hey guys, I've never posted on here before, but I'm an avid fan of the Wests Tigers and I have always enjoyed keeping up to date with what's happening by reading the interesting stuff on this board.

The reason I was prompted to finally post though, in this particular thread, was because when I was reading it, I was getting a bit ticked off with the number of comments that referred to Tahu as a "princess", a "skirt", exhibiting
"blouse-like behaviour" etc - in other words, being like a female. I would just like to know why, when you guys are disgusted with the way a player or someone else behaves, he is automatically described as being like a woman or a girl? As a woman, myself, I find it really offensive that racial slurs, name calling and hypocrisy are regarded as, innately, female characteristics by many people on this board. Especially since, I and just about all of the females I have ever met, would never even think of speaking or behaving in the way that Tahu has recently.

I know you are all at liberty to write whatever you like, but I was just wondering if it was possible to refrain from insulting us women, in any future comments, that describe the ugly behaviour/characteristics of players, or whoever, and call it what it really is - a man being a jerk and acting in a nasty way, not a womanly way.

Sorry if I've offended anyone, but I just had to get that off my chest. Sadly, I know that labelling men as 'like a girl' or 'like a woman' is used as an insult, in our society, all the time and I guess I'm just getting sick of it, that's all.

Ive caught myself doing things like this too…...all I can say is that I luuuuurve women,but also say to blokes stop acting like a skirt.

I guess its a double standard that still exists.....I wonder if girls bag out other gals who are butch by saying she is manly?????I dunno.

I wouldnt take to much offense to it,but you raise an extemely valid point and in the future if someone is acting in a way I deem sooky,I will call them sooky rather than blousey.

Thanks Simon. You're right it is a double standard that still exists and only those of us, who are consistently on the wrong end of it, really know how low it can make you feel. No real offence taken, in this instance. Just trying to highlight a centuries-old injustice in hope of change, and where better than on a forum of, predominantly, intelligent Tigers fans!
