Time For Benji Marshall to Retire

Benji had some moments of brilliance and equally some moments of stupidity. All in all, he picked up his game towards the end. He shouldn't retire... He still has something to offer to this team especially with the money he's on.

@TigersBusDriver The problem is that although Benji is not on big money he is taking up a CAP space which the club could well use to sign a young player with very good ability but not on huge money.

As usual way to many people think with their heart not their head. I don't hate benji by any means but he's just not going to bring us success in the future. He cracks under pressure almost every time. We could even look to sign Lewis as a replacement for benji.
We've signed Brooks up long term on decent money, it's time to let him run the team, and if he can't then we get rid of him too.
Replacing benji with madden is also an option. He couldn't play any worse and he's got a better kicking game and he kicks goals

@Newtown That makes no sense. Benji has a place in this team and is on barely anything. We should be replacing nuffies like Packer and McQueen and Jennings. They're noth helping the team and are on much larger money than Marshall.

@balmain-boy I think if we are real about Brooks run the show, then you put in a natural 5/8 and that’s Talau. Mbye and Marsters are doing fine as a centre pairing for next year, we might be able to nab Ramien. Fix up Talau’s defence and play him at 6.

What are you talking about, Robinson played Cronk with a broken shoulder last year. One missed tackle or one awkward landing and Roosters have a big Cronk-sized hole in their team; the whole GF falls apart.

Only in hindsight can you validate the decision; if Mbye pulled through this wouldn't be a discussion. Both risky plays.

Then, fundamentally, if you are comparing Maguire to Bellamy, Bennett or Robinson then yeah, you do have high expectations. I would LOVE for Maguire to do exactly what Bellamy does 100% of the time.

@Tigers17 gotta agree, sure it was disappointing but the two injuries were the problem, not just losing two of our best players but having a two man bench and then a sin binning. All that takes a toll
Benji was Benji, but he still is our playmaker most likely to make something happen, I may be crazy but I thought he was fine, intercept aside
Felt sorry for Momo, he seems to rush his kicks but geez one hit the post and I thought Garner could've got a bit closer to the posts

It's true, but there comes a point when it's beyond a joke. I can laugh with them and be frustrated with our fans that continually blow smoke up his .....

I dont really agree its time for Benji to retire end of season but I do think we are in a pickle if Reynolds cant be moved on at seasons end. The ESL transfer window closed on Friday 9 August and not a peep over Reynolds or any of the other unwanted WT players. Paying a large amount of $$$ for Reynolds not to play NRL grade is nuts. Benji is only one year more. Is that a luxury we cant afford despite cap constraints etc? Dunno................

Its common sense ....The dogs was a high risk game we couldn't lose and the one thing that was going to kill us as was proven was the shocking service out of dummy half

We didn't the 4 forwards game v the dogs

We won every stat in that game ...possession , yardage , kicking game , missed tackles .....poor service from dummy half killed us

I swear some on this Forum can't accept that our coaching group isn't anywhere near as good as they think
