Time for us to apologize to Benji

Benji has a great football brain.

From hooker, he was able to organise, guide the team and control the game.

I noticed the difference when Reynolds went to hooker. Service was slower, passes less accurate, easier to read.

There was definitely a higher tempo when Benji was there and he essentially got us to 30 nil.

He really is an amazing player.

Obviously Brooks was just making up the numbers.

G'day @Strongee: I haven't seen a post from you before. If this is your first??,....... Welcome to Our Jungle.
A very good post mate, with strong points of view.

@hobbo1 our halves are not inconsistent . You know what happens . Brooks is setting up down the left and Benji has a rush of blood and yells “over call” so it goes down the right . Or , Lawrence runs a line, brooks hits him , he drops the ball . This used to work , but Lawry appears to be getting on , and doesn’t have the leg speed . As for poor general field kicks . Go outside and try and kick a ball and get it to do what you want it to every time . It won’t , you know why ? Because the ball is shaped like an egg and , will do whatever it wants as , was the original point of choosing that shape .
Also the refs stayed out of last night .... which usually means the better team will win ,as attrition sets in . Teams who give a shit tonne of penalties or work the ref eg . Roosters and Melb , tend to manipulate the refs into swaying games. Like manly last week 8-2 penalty count by like the 30th minute . And it’s not the count that matters , but when they are awarded .6 penalties in a row which could be 10 b2b sets . That’s the whole match gone there .

Geez you post some crap !

Now your trying to educate me on the shape of the ball lmao

One more time for the dummies
( including you )

A lot of the time our halves have been crap ( inconsistent ) when in the opposition 20 and on general play ( fact )

That’s why we’re still pushing crap up hill in trying to finish in the top 8 .

As I’ve already stated , I’ve every right to bag them ...and when they play well I praise them !

And that goes for any player ...!

HAHA So cynical....

Brooks was awesome, but it's a Benji thread.

Benji took the organising off Brooks and Brooksy was able to concentrate on attack. Usually Benji and Brooks try and do the same job, but it worked well last night and they didn't get in each others way.

It was great to see.

You won’t get apologies from his critics. Only silence. Then when he has a bad game next week, out of the woodwork they’ll come.

I saw Brooks take a hand in game management - not just Benji.

Maybe I am the only one that saw this.

A had yes, but Benji dominated the management of the game in that 1st half. Brooks was so good because of the ball he received from Marshall, it was the best service he has had all year.
the ball was out in front of him allowing him to start on the front foot!

@hobbo1 Mate, he's been really good all year. Many have seen that. In the shitty games he is the only strike force with Matterson. When the forwards go backwards and the outside backs go sideways he cant do anything and tries impossible plays.

Good all year...lmao
Rocks and Diamonds mate !
Today he was Diamonds !

Yeah but we aren't paying him 800 k like we were 6 years ago

If you weigh up salary and performance .....he could arguably be Cleary's best signing along with Thompson / Farah

G'day @Geo: in a post a week or so ago, I asked could you please stop abbreviating words so the less groovy of our forum readers [like me] could understand what the heck you are talkin about. From memory, you didn't give me the courtesy of a reply either. Someone else had to jump in and give me the answer.
This time...what does OP mean.
I feel you like to be a bit mysterious with your communication Geo, but as a FORUMSUPPORTER, mysterious is NOT good communication.

Absolutely brilliant last night, as someone else said, the best service Brooks has received all year and what a game he had aswell.

June Dally Watkins has infiltrated the forum.

G'day @matchball: re your "I was too busy bagging Farah to be bagging on Benji" .... me two...and three :relaxed:

If one thing is clear with Brooks' and Benji's performances last night ... when the forwards win the battle, these guys are better than average.
When our forwards can't set a platform, the halves can't/don't perform. Simples! If ever there was a case for prioritising the purchase of another hard running prop, then last night demonstrated that in spades. It should be our number one directive.

So your saying if someone with his experience is only on 200k he has the right to be inconsistent...?

Thompson I’d agree with mate .

As for the opening post ...
That’s your opinion and not everyone’s mate !

His greatest contribution was allowing Brooks to control the game. Getting the ball out in front for him and quickly at that, was the first thing that I noticed last night and really enjoyed seeing it after a long drought. His own sleight of hand on the back of another in control is when he is at his best and I think we saw that last night.

Wanted that combination at nine last night and wrote so amongst the Brooks to nine crap last week. Reynolds was certainly nowhere near as crisp as Marshall was at dummy half, but he maintained the ball to Brooks supply, whilst bringing plenty of energy, particularly in the chase aspect.
