The people who believes Woods quotes that he "loves" JT probably are the same people who believe Cleary when he said last night their has been "No contact" with the club.

Use your common sense. Woods has asked square in the face by Ikon would you have reccomonded Tyaor be the coach in 2018 and beyond and he shifted the question "Thats a hard one he kept saying"

If he "loved" him he would have supported him far more in the Press and behind closed doors.

C'mon Eddie don't start it up again, we just talked T4L down from the ledge.

C'mon Eddie lets just pretend that **Woods and all the players loved JT** so much lol lol . These guys are already missing him lets not make it harder for them.

:roll

You dont have to pretend….he's quoted as saying that.
Aaron woods said it, you cannot deny it.
Did you pretend not to see the quote provided to you.
I guess youve conveniently ignored it...seeing as it is
what has proved you wrong in this thread, yet again.

Btw...Is this your favourite song?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sz_m6N1IYuc

Ive got a feeling someone else loves JT and is really sad right now. Is this the words to your favourite song at the moment:

"Hold me now
Its hard for me to say im sorry
I just want you to stay
After all that weve been through
I will make it up to you
I promise
After all thats been said and done
Youre just the part of me i cant let go"

Let go mate, must be hard, but you have to move on lol lol lol

Do yourself a favour and listen to Aaron Woods interview on the WT website.. he was grilled by the media on JT and his (woods) future. A couple of points in my opinion:

1) Woods rolled out cliches to most questions, refusing to directly answer the questions.
2) Woods at no time indicated a desire to stay a WT and captain… in fact he mentioned he grew up A Manly fan...

Poor interview by Woods IMO and his responses are not befitting of a committed Captain

His non committal throughout this whole saga is the most disappointing thing to come out of all of this. He's a poor leader. Appointed because there were no better options.

I believe he is wary after watching what happened to RF. Woods is careful not to comment on matters which belong in the Board Room. He has a long career ahead of him and hopefully that is with the WTs.

They will be weary after seeing what happened to RF not just about the coaching but how is career finished at the Tigers. Regardless of the motives reasoning it was a train wreck and wouldn't and couldn't have left nice taste in the playing groups mouth. Regardless of who was behind it.

God forbid any of you lot get interviewed and then slayed for the way you handled it.

Some people just aren't that great in the media. Farah made his enemies and wouldn't stop rubbing his chin with his thumb during pressers. Brooks is fair dinkum hopeless. Lawrence is very polished and avoids controversial comments, but lots of supports hate him because he isn't the player he used to be.

Woods is… same he has always been. Low key, bad hair, careful about what he says and mostly saying insignificant things. He has always avoided answering difficult questions, JT intercepted those at pressers.

I don't know what people want from the fellow, they want this front-foot eloquence, they want him to talk up the club and the coach and the roster and the gameplan, say insightful and strong things, commit himself career-wise with words.

Words in the media are meaningless. If Woods looked you in the eye and committed to something, that's different, but the media is just a soup of noise and half-truths. Who really cares what he says or does not say on a panel show or in front of a mike at training.

Sure maybe you want a captain who is a better, more convincing speaker. That's likely to end up having absolutely zero impact on on-field performance, football games are not won in front of a microphone, and then if the results don't come people start to shoot down the eloquent speakers for their "spin".

I'd also like to hear who the better captain at the club is. Rowdy? Half the fans want him cut. Ballin? Hardly played a minute of footy. It's thin ranks otherwise folks... Tedesco? Elijah Taylor? ET is still a new guy, not even one full season.

I love Woods. With Tedesco we should be locking them up asap and they deserve whatever we pay them. As for captain material im just not sure about him. But if all the players look up to him then maybe add a co-captain which i would add Tedesco.

Your right, there are not many other candidates.

Personally I don't think Woods is a great ambassador for the club as captain.

Thats not to say I don't like his personality and his football.

However he is not a strong leader.

JT would feel a bit let down by him and perhaps rightly so - and I was no JT fan by any means.

This makes me think the current squad are jaded to what happened with Farah and maybe Gus's is right a complete clean out is necessary

It's bad leadership from the captain. He should have deflected this by saying it's with my manager and a decision will be made soon. WT need to get in with it and hire Cleary. The whole PC coach search and due diligence farce that will take place will see the players leave.

If it takes longer than 2 weeks Moses will be in Brisbane, Woods and Teddy will be at the Dogs.

It's not PC it's due diligence. They probably will move quickly but you shouldn't criticise them for not just immediately signing up the person **you** happen to think is appropriate. See who is available. See how much they want. See what conditions they want or expect. Unless all these things have been sorted in advance behind the scenes (which they may have as a contingency) then it will take some time.

And it's absolute rubbish that those three will suddenly up and leave if it's not sorted in the next fortnight. Their manager sees the chance for big money and he'll need this club at the table to maximise the contracts.

What a bunch of fashion puritans
But fashion opinion aside, Woods was consistently one of our 3 best players, averaging 160 m per game, our only representative player, and arguably with Bromwich, the best NRL prop.
If we only have more players like him and Tedesco, go Tigers :sign:

Lol yes they sound like a bunch old cronies criticising and 'tut tutting' the younger generation with their long hair and lazy ass ways

Personally I don't think long hair, hairbands or beards have anything to do with how tough a bloke is or how well he plays - some of the hardest and toughest hombres played during the 1970s & 80s and practically all of them had scruffy appearances and long locks!

I'm not sure what to make of that interview. On the one hand he has a right to know, who is going to be the coach. On the other hand it's odd he would use an analogy like "what if the new coach doesn't want me".

It's this aspect of Woodsy that confuses me. You are club Captian stand and deliver, we have guys like Fulton saying they sacrificed for the club and woodsy is not sure he wants to stay. Maybe the role of captain is not sitting well with him at the moment?

Teddy and woods would be high up on most coach's Wishlist and possibly on every clubs radar, regardless of their current roster. So his insecurity confuses me as well.

Well Woods is pretty much saying he wont commit until he knows who the new coach is and the direction the club is going. The club is saying this could take 2 months and wont wait that long for the players to commit. So if the club is serious about taking 2 months to find a coach we have a mexican stand off about to happen. If they decide to put a deadline on the players without a coach signed then we could lose them. I hope Pascoe is just keeping the media away because if it really is going to take 2 months then this is going to end in disaster. Im sure players we are targeting will also want to know who the coach is. Get of your ass Pascoe and make this happen. This whole process should not take more thank 2 weeks. Or do they want another JT style PowerPoint presentation to make up their mind.

Fair point. Time will tell.

You cant expect Woods to put the interest of the club before himself - especially after the events of last year. Just maybe he wants to be assured that the new coach is experienced and able to bring some players to the club, maybe he has goals to win a premiership, and maybe watching Farah play reserves from the sideline reminds him that things can turn quickly.
He has been honest with the club he wants to know who the coach is before signing which in my opinon suggests Woodsy is over the crap that goes on at this club as much as the fans - and I for one cant blame him. He has options no doubt he is considering them .

Thanks mate terrific can use for other purposes as well. I read that article that Woods seemed to know that there would be a change of coaches and or did not want to sign again under JT's reign due to what happened to HRH R Farah.
