I was going to say the jury is out still so all of a sudden after 3 good wins we are being asked to give him credit why wasn't this question asked after the Canberra rout hmmmm

Didn't have to ask. Taylor, Pascoe and the playing group all took responsibility.

That's the point of this thread. Acknowledging the impact of Taylor and his coach just FG staff on the improvement since that match.

Its pretty straight forward isn't it!
Maybe a loss this week will bring a smile back to some people's faces.

You seem to find it hard to comprehend that people who think Taylor is a dud still want the team they support to succeed.

This is 100% right, some just can't get it in their heads though

There have been a few ''supporters'' quoted as hoping we'd lose just so they could rub it in JT's face.

Finally someone speaks some sense. Having an opinion on who JT picks and what positions they play and not agreeing with every move he makes does not make anyone not a supporter. At the end of fhe day all we want is success, and we are all armchair experts lol. I will scream and yell and go nuts for a victory regardless of my opinion of JT or any players i dont think should be there. This week is as close a feeling to a semi that ive felt in a long time. Just so confusing why there is a little gang on here who think they run the show and will not tolerate any criticism of JT, its actually pretty weird, especially when the whole point of a forum is to express different opinions.

I'm sensing some paranoia… I don't know why people feel the need to justify themselves to anonymous internet usernames

some people just don't understand. if Robbie Farah stays on his $950,000 we would not be able to sign ET or anybody significant for that matter. the same people whining about poor Robbie would be the first to say how can the club let ET go somewhere else with comments like this club is pathetic and hopeless

We cant have it both ways guys and I think some people on this forum must have a very sad life and love nothing more than sticking the boot in at every opportunity

HANG ON , if the club and more so JT had not signed ballin and a couple of other deadwoods the culb could have signed ET. JT has signed a lot of the so call crap to contracts so dont say its robbies fault, i really dont care if he stays or goes but its not his fault in any way get that thur every ones think heads.

pretty convenient for you to ignore the fact that ET wasn't available until mid-season… he was released by the Panthers... he wasn't available then when Ballin was available. I think if the two were available at the same time then you would find they would've signed ET.

I don't comment much on these forums but I can't let your comment go without it being corrected. Give credit where credit is due. He is molding these players the way he sees fit and he is doing a great job. Win or lose he is making them better players.

Linking the retention of ET to Farah's contract is nonsense (which is the issue). Farah is on contract until the end of next year unless he decides otherwise.

Like with most things in life there are three camps. Those for, those against and those on the fence.

Taking all the emotion away and looking at what we have achieved and where we have come from, for me it is hard not to give Taylor a big pat on the back, of course other people will have a different slant on it. I know the NRL is a result driven sport, but even when we have lost this year bar two matches we have been in the hunt till the end.

I see a very strong committed squad of players and that just doesn't happen when you have a dud coach. As I have said before, I really think we will just fall short of the eight, but it is hard not to think 2016 has been a pretty good year and the coach deserves some credit along with everyone else at camp Concord who are turning things around from the basket case we were

Look here is another bash jt for everything muppett

I can't understand that people with differing opinions of JT,that is like him or loath him for whatever reason, still can't accept that he has done a very good job with this talented yet youthful inexperienced team. .irrespective of team selection or dropping of players,he still is the COACH and should be given his full tenure at this club,I also accept that his coaching staff have worked along side JT to bring out the best in these young players,it has been a very hard road for everyone within the club, salary cap issues, restriction of recruitment, back ended deals and a mountain of negative media representation…and yet we are bordering on the top 8...not lamenting on the bottom of the ladder....does JT deserve credit for this ?? Absolutely,he has my full support as does the team and admin of the club...we are closer to great stability and a premiership may not be to far away in the future...

Even though some do not like or want JT,he still is the coach of our team which we pledge our support to every week, every year,if we endeavour to seek success with our team we must also support our coach,he isn't as bad as some coaches or greater than others, however he is OUR TEAM coach and he deserves support and credit for making hard decisions that others have not made....

I thought last week was a masterclass in how to take down the Cowboys. Kudos.

But then again I feel like the Cowboys hardly attacked our weak right side…no idea why.

But then again Taylor has clearly been able to cultivate team spirit.

But on the other hand he still picks Lovett....I just don't get it.

Anyway, if we can contain ourselves and get into the 8 that will be credit-worthy, undeniably.

If he can steer us into week 2 of finals he is probably Coach of the Year.

They went down the right a lot. It probably doesn't seem that way as we're not used to there being no glaring errors from that trio during a game.

As for Lovett, i really don't get why he still cops it. What he lacks in ability, he makes up for in heart. He plays like he has to earn it.

I coach a few guys that are all heart on the football field it doesn't make them NRL footballers

It shows great attitude and commitment and that is all part of the culture they are building. Have heard Gould mention many times how a team lost because they lacked in this area.

I'm sure you do want the team to win. But I'm sure a loss will give you some joy aswell.

Counter it with Siro. He might have natural ability, but to this point, every first grade game he's played, he's coasted, like he thinks his position is entitled. Guys like Lovett have a dig. And Lovett's actually improved big time this yr. Here's hoping if and when Siro is back in the top grade he shows some hunger.

Well said coach and I agree with all of it.

Seriously guys, the crap that has been sprouted in this thread has gone on long enough. Discuss the topic rationally or it closes.

Good thread

despite supposed backing from the board , JT put his job on the line 3 weeks ago with Farah being dropped to NSW Cup .

3 losses & the pitchforks would've been out for him & he may not have seen out the season .

People scoffed at the wins against the dragons & eels saying they were bellow par opposition but the eels went on to beat Manly & the dragons had narrow losses to the dogs & Broncos .

Then there's the win against the Cowboys ….
The defending premiers who the week before , without Thurston , took the Storm to the wire .

We've come a long way this year & JT deserves credit for it .

Also said he only did it because we were playing those teams who we were heavily favoured against anyway, so the decision would be easily justified. The Cowboys game, that theory got flipped on its head.

I said at the time when he addressed the media the day after Farah was dropped that he spoke with a confidence i hadn't seen. Looking back, its easy to see he was speaking like a coach who knew he had the whole club behind him.

I thought JT picked the perfect time because we were morals against the eels and the dragons.. However i will say our defence against the cowboys was to point. If this is where JT was building us too i will give him credit for that. Middle defence looked unbreakable and even oir right hand side worked as one for the first time. Our line speed was as good as anyone, so JT deserves credit for that. We still have 4 games and i will reserve my full judgement based on where we end up. Again all i want is to win, and i dont think any supporter will be glowing when we lose to prove a point

Also GNR,I think JT is having confidence in his desicions regarding the team selections,he is backing himself on those desicions and so far he has the team playing as a team for each other…people forget that he spends hours with the team doing positional changes and structures,in this regard I think the team are completely on his side and the wins they have produced are showing that..

You don't play like we have the last couple of weeks if the team isn't on board with the coach. That's not saying they'd be against Farah, but they're happy enough to put their trust in the coach.

Well imagine where we would be sitting on the ladder if he didn't make brain dead team selections for the first half of the season

Im happy with how we are tracking and im happy to give JT some credit. But i do say its about consistency so I will reserve my full judgement until seasons end.

Im happy to keep the coach and see more reasons to keep him than to dump him, thats for sure. He has copped it when we we lose, he should enjoy the glory when we win.
