Titans team depleted (possibly)

By the sounds of things in the news today, it looks like Bird, Faifai Loa, Falloon and Dave Taylor will be stood down unless they can convince their board otherwise/are found not guilty.

Who steps in for these guys? I would have liked to see us against a full strength Titans team to get a measure of where we're at, but happy to take the 2 points if they're on offer.

I don't want to turn this into a speculation of guilt or innocence. Simply a discussion on the likely team we will face if these guys or others are out for Rd 1.

I would not mind if Nate (I lead with my head) Myles was out of the match for whatever reason. He and Bird make a good pair of grubs.

Good chance of being top of the Table after Round 1  .

In all seriousness:

We need to play the game and not the media hype around it , i'm sure they will make us heavy favourites for the game after all this and that could spell Danger for us .

The mentality that we have won this game already could cost us big time .

Bird, Taylor, Fallon. Faifai Loa and Dowling will all be definitely out…..they have been stood down from all training and playing responsibility until their court appearance on March 9 ...we play on March 7...

I'd imagine Moseley will come in for Fallon...Bird and Taylor will be replaced by Simpkins and Robinson with Pettybourne and Burr on the bench

Seriously weakened team, but we need to make sure they don't pull our pants down. Let's hope we take advantage.

If they turn up thinking it will be easy, they'll get rolled. Teams have a history of lifting after adversity. They'll need to be on guard and just play what's in front of them.

I think Stama will replace Faloon with Moseley on the bench.

Moseley is ahead of Srama in the pecking order.

Srama was a pretty good player once, I wonder what's happened to him to end up this far down the pecking order.

Remember back in 2001 when field and macguniess got done for drugs? That weekend a no name tigers with a debuton halfback came out and spanked a pretty decent storm team. We could be walking into an ambush, we'll need to be at our best.

Ahh Ben Black. Looked the goods. Pity his ego was the size of Ayres Rock.

I can remember us resting a heap of blokes after a Test Match in 2000 against the Cowboys and getting beaten because we took them too easy

Taylor will have our team focused. I think the players themselves will be all too aware of how important it is to get away to a good start, and when the opposition is down, kick them some more.

History has shown that over the years teams wether they win or lose trial games always step up another level once the season starts and the best players (if not injured)are usually fielded…Titans are in a situation where they don't know who is playing and who is not, however no teams should be underestimated at this point in time....tread with caution I say....

They do know who is not playing….

All this rise from adversity crap is bull ...sure you can isolate times where teams have lifted when no one expected them to be a chance but there are just as many if not more when it hasn't....I can think of two of the top involving us....the Dragons just last year as one and when Robbie's Mum sadly past V the Rorters...

It shouldn't even be a factor in our prep as Willow said Taylor will have them focussed...
