Today i realised how important McKinnon is

I don't think it is any coincedence that with the arrival of Wade McKinnon we were winning games, albeit close ones.

McKinnon's support play is 1st class, in fact world class. Today we had no support play at all. There were a couple of times when we had punched the line and the guy had a look only for no support play.

This will be even more important when Gareth Ellis is back. Wade and Gareth compliment each other perfectly and are both sorely missed. This is why i actually would be happy to put McKinnon down in the key signing category that Sheens has promised (some may disagree).

Today also showed that Brown has something to offer in that he can defend, has pace and has ability. He must replace Fitzhenry.

I hope next week it looks like:

1\. McKinnon
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence (give him more ball!!!!!!!)
5\. Brown
6\. Marshall
7\. Lui
8\. Gibbs
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Ellis
12\. Fulton
13\. Heighington

14\. Moors
15\. Fifita
16\. Dwyer
17\. Payten

Towntiger - I think you are overrating McKinnon a little bit but you have a good point.

That team is the team that should be choosen on a regular basis.

I'm not saying his whole game is 1st/world class but his support play definately is.

There was one stage in the second half when Lui ran at the line and there was NOBODY within 10 metres of him.

I agree with this thread, McKinnon is vital.

Fitzy was ordinary again,Brown showed some heart, his cover tackle a perfect example,Skando offers not much, they both need to to go west,Ellis,Ryan,Mckinnon and Moors are way better, but sheens knows best.

Ellis is THE BIG loss ATM, but my heart sank when McKinnon was ruled out. He is so strong and reliable out the back, and looks for opportunities in attack.

he is a great supporting full-back. if only he has a bit more pace.
also, that line-up you have is great and the bench is brilliant. with a bench like that we probably would have had a better chance vs manly.
fitzy MUST go. skano tries hard but he is past his best. we are playing with effectively 15 players with these 2 in the team.

We were missing the extra dimension in our attack. McKinnon is the type to trouble the defense by sniffing around the playmakers.

i think mckinnon also adds value when we are defending. when you are at the game you can see him screaming to our defensive line and telling people where to be and what to look for. he goes a long way to organising our defense and it is no coincidence we leaked a helluva lot more without him there…

I dont know that McKinnon is that good (although I do rate him) I just think our fullback alternatives in Fitzy and Brown are that far away from NRL standard (especially in attack) its not funny.

it wasnt just that mckinnon was rules out, it was who replaced him….

I had to have a laugh at 2gb's commentary and a comment from Blocker about Mckinnon and Fitzy…

Was in reference to his kick returns and how McKinnon always comes back hard and takes on the defence, and the Blocker said yeah and this other guy (Reference to Fitzy) just curls up in a little ball...

So looks like even he can see he's got nothing...

Nearly everyone, except Sheens and some FWO idiots already know this.
