Todays Loss could work in our favour for next year

For a young team with an average level of talent we actually did pretty well this year. We shouldn't have finished so close on the ladder to the 8 with that forward pack…Aloiai and DENE FRIGGIN HALATAU started a lot of games, Lovett was a regular in the team, as was Edwards by the end. Maybe one of those guys would get a regular run at a good team, so to play all 4 explains the score line on Sunday pretty well.

The confidence of our young halves isn't always matched by their talent or intelligence either.

The problem? Where does the improvement come from? Felise, Tatola and Marsters need some strong veterans around them (Lawrence doesn't count).

In answer to the Original post….let's be serious how poor were the Warriors though?

You do get caught up in the moment and think gee we just need to beat the Raiders and where playing semi final footy, but realistically we have so many 1st Graders that simply aren't that.

Our Forwards are soft bellies with no Mongrel or intimidation about them.
They couldn't even get physced up for the occasion in the opening 20 minutes with a packed house.

Then again a Club with no accountability with the same plodders getting picked every week, they are hardly going to bust there guts when they will still get picked regardless the following week.
A bit of complacency happening with some of our players IMO.

Havent you heard, accountability doesnt get you in the semis. If you make your players accountable then you have to drop them, and dropping players means players coming jn and out of your team which is bad for consistency and cohesion lol. Only at the tigers ah…..

i thought the same about the Cowboys win, they were off their game, guys over running the play, slow service and Thurston was not right.

And that's what pisses me off about the Club i support….the tripe i have to believe that " the best 17 was picked " :blah :blah :blah .
I can still visually see Rankin knocking that ball on against the Bulldogs that was on his chest that would of sealed the game or the 200 knock ons i had to witness at Penrith Stadium from Rankin but he still got picked every week .
The lack of involvement from Brooks throughout the year the missed tackles that led to tries .
The poor lack of defensive reads from Naiqama , the rushing up in defence when not required .
Lovett , Edwards etc but they will all get picked every week .
We had Addo-Carr untouched for half a year and persisted with Rankin when Addo- Carr was the form winger during Pre-Season , Rod Griffin not even experimented and see if he had it .

Ummm… we have so many first graders who are not but you want to replace them with even lesser reserve graders..so when they don't come up ...you replace them with..?

I've gleaned that the main problems are Rankin Lovett Brooks and Naiqama lets put in Hunt Chee-Kam Littlejohn and Sironen...Are we suddenly a Top 8 side..?

How can any Coach change this...?

I don't think we are a Top 8 side , no way in Hell , Parra would of finished higher if it wasn't for their Cap breach , Roosters didn't have there full strength side till Round 8 or so , Warriors were disgustingly poor for the squad they had and we were gifted some Wins against the Broncos , Dragons , Eels due to them missing a heap of players , Warriors were a laugh last week so alot of these circumstances made our Position look more attractive .
But Raiders proved last week just how far we are from being a force , even the Titans game at Campelltown you don't loose that if your a real Top 8 side .
You can't expect to have the 2nd worst defence and be deserved of Semi Final Footy we have conceded more than double of what Melbourne Storm have conceded.
JT hasn't fixed or identified how to fix our defence…..something he told us just how soft every other NRL Club perceived our Defence , If his a Coach then i'm Bill Harrigan

That wasn't the question…Taylor can go we have discussed this before....

On the one hand you have people saying our roster is good with a few tweaks ..then you have people saying how far off we are to be a top 8 side...

So is it the Cattle or the Coach...I believe it's a bit of both...

Toovey summed it up If you don't have the players you are not going to win

No i don't think our Roster is how enough nor our Coach, we have a couple of game breakers like Teddy and Moses that are going to be on from time to time.
consistently as a team we are miles behind with the defence being the real worry.

We did finish way higher than i expected so Jason Taylor can have his final year but with no signings in sight i believe it will just be that " his final Season in the NRL as a Coach ".

The bottom line is our squad of players we have at our disposal is not good enough to make the halfway mark of a 16 team comp and probably will be the same next year. You can blame the coach, the refs or the weather, but it all comes down to the quality you have at your disposal and we have far to many fringe first graders / reserve graders in our 17

100% agree with you mate. I was at the Penrith game and thought there was no way Rankin would be picked again. Absolute rubbish

missing 14 finals series in 17 years should be a wakeup call

Embarrassing. And some think a coaching change will solve everything lol.

It won't but it's a bloody good start

Not when you've already sacked the one before him with pretty much the same squad. At what point do we collectively put the responsibility on the players? Blaming the coach is an cop out and a excuse not to focus on the role the players play. When we do sack him and don't move forward we'll call for the next coach to be sacked too.

This is not true, Potter was not sacked, his contract run out and was not renewed.

I was there too, and if ever accountability was called on it was after that game, as JT cranked on about when Farah was dropped, JT lied there was no accountability and Farah was shoved out, just sack the bloke and move on.

The only constant in all those years has been the logo (slightly altered) and the fans
Those that matter come and go, players coaches officials
I dont think anyone at the club has a sense or feel of history, nor should they really…nothing much there to be proud of

Huge difference, no hassle no money changes hands, imagine if Farah was off contrsct not moved on, big big difference and much easier for the club.
