Okay, So think we should sign this guy to play inside brooks
Should come cheap

Okay, just taking the piss out of things

On a more serious note.
I for one and a few friends agree with me…....
Sacking players and suspending players is a dumb course to follow, sure players get up to some stupid things and deserve some discilplinary actions but these CEO,s and the bosses should be held accountable to the fans for not putting the best team available on the park. Cronulla would NOT have won against the broncos if Carney was not there and this happens on a regular basis with a lot of teams. Sure, discipline them in some other way, like huge fines and let it hurt in the pocket rather than getting rid of them. What if Luke Brooks got into some strife and the club sacked him, the fans would burn down the club and I would gladly lead them. Look at our form, the bottom three teams ( all lucky wins) knights by three, cronulla by two and raiders by one. I wouldn't be getting on a high horse and gloating. So the moral of this post is, let's go and buy carney and play beside brooks WHAT a combination! we could have picked up Carney, Dugan. Ferguson etc and had an awesome back line, but wait we have Anasta , Lawrence .
What combination would you prefer.
Dah,

Dah,

Totally agree.
Side note: Tigers recruitment should think about having an officer in a covert role as Canberra therapist.

I tend to agree with this. He is an idiot and his history would indicate that, having said that on his day he's a serious player and is eventually going to be picked up by another club, albeit not for the next 12 months, as he's every chance of winning games for his club and the usual PR Spin will come out that he's reformed, learnt from his past and knows this is his last chance etc etc if he were to Join the Tigers, take the Dally M and lead us to a grand final like he did with the Roosters I don't think there'll be many of us up in arms about what he's done.

i wouldn't take this guy for free, he is toxic. if you haven't learnt your lesson after two sackings, you never will. since being in the shire he's been going nuts on the drink and given free reign to do whatever and for someone supposedly trying to turn his life around….yeah, sure.

Where do you draw the line between behaviour and the urgent pressing need to win a premiership? Wests Tigers cut Yilleen for far less, but wait Carney is a much better footballer, right?

We have a great bunch of young kids learning the game, learning the pressure that comes with it and learning to live with the media exposure. And we would want Todd Carney mentoring them????

Thankfully our knumbskull coaching staff left about 10 years ago.

Thread on every footy forum for every team.
Legit wonder where he'll end up though….

Surely he's too good for super league but who would take the risk?
Sacked from three clubs and a deadset gronk.

Three ESL clubs have already said no

Warrington , Hull and even Salford have said no

In fairness to Todd, Julian O'Neill was a heaps worse bloke on the drink and had a squillion more chances.

Jeez, even Nate Myles got off light when he took a dump in the hotel corridor.

Joel Monaghan ended up in ESL after a pretty bad photo (what is it with the Canberra blokes???) went viral.

Carney will get a contract once the dust settles, but it will be overseas.

That line will come when a team decides they need a player of Carney's potential. I don't think he'll sign with us due to the club have their 6 and 7 sorted for a fair while once Moses is ready or they stick with Austin if Moses plays at 1\. My point was eventually he's going to be picked up by someone once the dust settles and if the Tigers decided they were to sign him and he plays to his best on the field and does something similar to what he did in 2010 then people will look past his off field behaviour eventually, it's all a big IF and Hypothetical. Time goes on and people move past what's happened previously, Nate Myles, Julian O'Neill, Shane Warne, Dave Warner, etc as long as they do the business on the field and behave themselve people move on.

I thought Carney had problems with ESL anyway, because he actually has prior convictions / citations from the police?

his only chance is French Rugby or the Catlan Dragons in the ESL, because the French dont have the same visa restrictions. He will not get a contract registered in the NRL again, even the Chooks would get knocked back if they approached the league.

As for us, even if we could sign him, we would not touch him with a barge pole. Attracting commercial partners is very hard these days and you just could not risk your brand name with a player like Carney.

I would like to see him back in Canberra, with good people around him 24/7 on a very last chance contract, with a truck load of conditions. They need him and he needs them, to good of a player to throw on the scrap heap
