Todd Payten names NYC team to face Storm

Moses field goal. Tigers win again minus Lovett, Brown and Brooks. This team can play. Fosio Tatola racked up some good stats on the back of 18s Origin.

At full strength there's no side in this comp that can go with the Tigers. We'll go back to back imo. Payten is a gun coach.

Provided the team plays to potential, yes I agree. Payten is a smart bloke and despite having one of the smaller teams, he's also got one of the best defensive teams at his disposal.

We've easily got the best halves combo in Brooks and Moses, the forward pack is mobile and solid enough and the backs are getting the job done. Payten reckons this is a better football team than last year, and to think young Sirro, Tedesco and Nofoaluma could all still be playing in this team.

Very good side but not convinced the three-quarter line is good enough. That being, they will go close particularly if Brooks qualifies to play in the finals.

Looking at the WT draw, we should finish in the top 4 easily, with a bit of luck maybe even a shake at the minor premiership, hoping.

Good win by the sound of things.
Considering the number of players in 1sts, state cup & injured it's very impressive.

Match Report: NYC - Wests Tigers vs Storm

Wests Tigers have defeated Melbourne Storm 25-16 at Campbelltown Sports Stadium after the fixture was postponed to protect the Leichhardt Oval surface.

The match got off to a freakish start when Melbourne Storm allowed the ball to bounce, conceding a line drop out.

Repeat sets amounted to nothing for Wests Tigers, though they looked the stronger in the early exchanges.

With 20 minutes gone in the first half, neither side had managed to cross the whitewash, but Wests Tigers were looking the better with the majority of field position and possession.

Mitchell Moses opened the scoring with a brilliant try, backing up fullback Delouise Hoeter who broke down the sideline after collecting a grubber in his own in-goal.

The conversion from Manaia Rudolph gave Wests Tigers a 6-0 lead after 28 minutes.

With just two minutes remaining in the first half, Melbourne opened their account with a dummy half run from Herchel Gideon.

The kick for goal was converted leaving the score 6-a-piece heading into the break.

Melbourne Storm struck first in the second term, giant forward Francis Tualau busting through the heart of the Wests Tigers defence from 20 metres out.

The try was converted by Matt McGahan, to see Melbourne 12-6 after 46 minutes.

Wests Tigers winger Leva Li scored an individual try in the 55th minute, scooping up a loose ball near the sideline to beat a host of players on his way towards a touchdown near the posts.

Rudolph converted to level the scores at 12-all.

Wests Tigers lit up a cold Campbelltown Stadium with 20 minutes remaining, a bust from live-wire Mitchell Moses was supported by Manaia Rudolph who in turn got a great pass to Kurtis Rowe to evade the cover defence.

Rowe, who had switched to fullback finished a brilliant team try under the posts.

The conversion restored Wests Tigers' 6-point advantage.

Manaia Cherrington scored a likely match-sealer in the 72nd minute, toeing through a loose offload from Mitchell Moses to touch down.

Moses had carved through the the Storm defence from close range.

The try was converted giving Wests Tigers a two-try lead.

Mitchell Moses put the icing on the cake with five minutes to go, snapping a field goal from close range to seal a good win.

Melbourne claimed a late consolation through centre Finau-Puaka who crashed over out wide.
