Tonight is for Mick.

Hello fellow Wests Tigers fans.

I've been a long time follower of this website and due to the recent controversy and media dribble our club has been involved with I feel obliged as a fan to finally make my first post. :supporter:

As a fan of this great club and it's proud history I can honestly say I am embarrassed and appalled at the treatment of Coach Mick Potter.

There is more than enough posts made about how much rubbish this man has had to deal with this season which includes; the absolute mess left by Tim Sheens, this dysfunctional group of people we call a "board", a roster of under-performing "senior" players, the worst injury toll in recent NRL history and numerous other uncontrollable obstacles.

YES, we are second last. YES we have perhaps under performed as a team and YES at times Mick has made some errors, but my goodness, in my opinion the man has done still well considering the obstacles in front of him. He's done some good things including the promotion of youth players and the clean out of what could be considered "deadwood" players.

Essentially I made this post because tonight, not only do I support the Tigers and hope we win as a team, but I hope tonight we win for Mick, because we all know the predicaments facing this man at the moment and none of us, whatever job we may have would like to be in his position. Mick has had an extremely tough year and if given the opportunity I am confident can do great things for this club.

So tonight, I hope we go out there and win this one, if the players lack motivation look no further than their embattled coach Mick Potter, the guy has had to deal with a lot this year and I truly hope the players respond and give that extra bit for Mick.

Tonight's for Potter boys, up the Tigers. :sign:

We'll see tonight whether Potter has the players' support. Fingers crossed…

All I can say is, Why does the coach has to take 90% of the blame if the team under performs. Even if we had Craig Bellamy, Wayne Bennett or even the best coach in the world, we will still be down near the bottom of the ladder with all the rubbish that has been going on this year. A coach doesn't tell a player to kick it out on the full when trying to find touch, or throw a forward cut out pass and so forth. The onus should be put on the players not the coach, I reckon Potter is getting the raw end of the stick.

I would like to see some of our established players draw a line in the sand tonight and decide to actually man up and have a red hot go. Surely there has to be some type of pride left in playing for our club?

I am living in Thailand now and have been a longtime supporter of the Magpies and Wests Tigers. I do not post very often but I feel compelled to say something now.Mick Potter deserves to be supported in his role at this time. I am sick and tired of this rubbish and rumours and players supposedly dictating terms and running dead when they are being paid big money to play good football and play the best they can!!!!!! This board is a joke and they should be sacked not Mick Potter!!!!!!! I hope the players show some pride tonight.
