Tony Sukkar #292

Tony has the size and raw power to.become quality NRL back rower.
Like most of our team he is still very young and needs time to develop mentally, but that little cameo appearance tonight will be great for his confidence knowing he has the tools to make a big impact at NRL level.
His issue is he needs to improve his work rate and not drop his intensity so badly under fatigue, but they are aspects of his game thst can be easily rectified if and when he realises how good he can be.

As I said, compared to the likes of Johannsen, this kid had a very poor year. He's just a plodder
While I agree he was mostly underwhelming and disappointing when playing NSW Cup this season and I’ve noticed a pattern where he looks to conserve his energy and only run the ball at half pace when fatigued, he has the body shape and physical attributes that even you acknowledge is ideal to develop.
I think his strong run last night that scattered the Eels defenders and paved the way for Papali’i to score on the following play is the blueprint for him to know what type of damage he is capable of doing at NRL level if he puts his mind to it.
He’s another player that is still very young and has a lot of mental development left in him, but the signs were good and I think we will see a much improved player in 2025.

I like Sukkar. I've liked what I've seen through the lower grades too.

Doesn't look overmatched in any contest.

That isn't to say I want him starting next season. Another year in KOE would do him wonders. But I think he's one long term option for the 1st grade forward pack.

Given he is still jersey flegg eligible and we are short of depth in the backrow be great to see him show he has potential - don't expect miracles from a 20 yr old
