"Too early" for Tedesco Origin talk: Taylor

I can't believe Tedesco is still chasing high kicks so fearlessly. He chased that high attacking kick from Brooke's in the first half against the dragons and almost collided heavily with the dragons defender. That is exactly how he broke his patella.

He certainly isn't showing any mental scars!

Tedesco is the best NSW fullback and I have no doubt about it. Only age, injury and politics will stop him.

Well NSW loss is our gain. I'll happily keep him playing for the Tigers in those 3 games.

Teddy is a wonderful player. Hope he stays injury free, continues to play well for us, and in time i hope he gets his chance to play SOO and for Australia.

Look you would want him to get 20 odd games in a season first for his sake

The extra stress this season of playing 3 extra games could cause issues

It is all about the X factor the Origin game is a different beast ..just say Morlan is the preferred choice or someone else is at the time does not mean that they will succeed . Personally I think that Teddy has that X factory but this is not the year for him ,
this year Teddy has to establish himself as a regular first grader and long team injury is a thing of the past .

Injury free and consistent season before origin talk.

WT could be smacked out of park by Souths and the talk would quickly change

Well said, would like to see club form and games under his belt before he gets talked up for origin.

Is he that good?
Potential - yes.
Proven yet - - not really.
Even Teddy has stated his first thing is to finish the season…...

Moylan is all class, he will no doubt play for the blues, only problem is will it be as FB or 5/8 when Penrith move him there.

Tedesco is quick, classy and Injury prone so lets get a full season out of him at the mighty Tigers before worrying about anything else.

Agreed regarding Moylan, he's a terrific player but there's no doubt in my mind that he's a 5/8\. Great ball player and kicker but doesn't have the explosive speed needed to be an elite fullback. Tedesco on the other hand has all the traits of Moylan plus the explosive speed and tackle breaking ability. In 2 years, I see the NSW spine being:

1\. Tedesco
6\. Moylan
7\. Reynolds/Brooks
9\. Farah

Teddy will play origin,he has all the assets,if not this year,it will be in the not so distant future…truly a gifted player and athlete...

AHX,while you mentioned the great Dorahy and Jack, let me mention a couple of players and it will tell my age,Brentnell,Al McMahon and even Potter,in their time they all had a special part of their game, some had speed, some had great defence and others had a great passing game, all could read play very well….the point I'm making X is that Teddy has a superb mixture of all of these,a gifted player that doesn't come along very often,we are lucky to have him...the more game time he has and the more his confidence builds, then the more he will come into calculations for SOO...only time will tell..cheers mate...

Without the severe injuries that hampered him, there be no need for this discussion as James would be the NSW (and Aus) fullback. His all round game at career stage is as good any that I have seen in my nearly fifty years, regardless of the colours he wears.

I know what you are saying formerguest, but for me, he needs a full year to prove to himself as much as any of us, that his body is up to the rigors of SOO. I think Tedesco will eventually be the best fullback we have seen - bar none. But he's not there yet. There doesn't appear to be a weakness in his game.

Hayne, Slater, Inglis are all pretty good. I think Teddy is a really good player but I'm not sure he will ever get to that sort of level.

We now have players like Dugan and Moylan. Plus we have had some pretty good fullbacks in the likes of Hodgson, Brasher and Jack.
