Heard barely anything about Gavet once he turned out for state cup. Can anyone share any info?

Actually really excited to see what kind of player Sue turns into. Showed so much power for a kid. What kind of build will he develop into in the next few years? Never looked out of his depth, even when we were getting flogged. I think a backrow of:

11: Fulton
12\. BMM
13\. Sue

could serve us well to start. If we are holding our own then blokes like Sirro and Cory Patterson (and Tapau) come off the bench could cause some damage and open things up for Tedesco with a few offloads.

We can hope…

I think BMM is a better impact player, like Fifita. I'd prefer Sirro playing 50-60minutes as I know he can do it.

Average age of just over 22 if my maths was correct. Good signs for the future with plenty more young'uns to come too! Really impressed by the clean out so far, only good things can come of this.

Very happy with the squad overall, depth in every pos including halfs,

I cannot speculate as to starting line ups, as injuries and pre season improvements and performances need to be taken into consideration.

Much happier with squad then last season.

Wests Tigers 2014 squad - Props

In the final announcement of the top 33 playing squad for 2014, Mick Potter takes us through the eight props ahead of pre-season training.

The addition of Martin Taupau from the Bulldogs adds great depth to this particular area, with all eight players having played at least one game of first grade.

Taupau will look to lock-down a spot in the strongest 17 after playing just 21 games in his career at the Bulldogs who have a strong front row rotation of James Graham, Sam Kasiano and Aiden Tolman.

Jack Buchanan and Ava Seumanufagai both had strong debut seasons for the Wests Tigers after injuries to Aaron Woods and Keith Galloway opened the door for the rookie pair to feature in a considerable amount of games.

Nathan Brown and James Gavet will also be competing for positions in the NRL squad, with Woods, Galloway and Adam Blair adding a wealth of experience to the 2014 forward pack.

MICK POTTER TALKS PROPS FOR 2014:

“In the props we have added a bit of size with Martin Taupau. He was a very good player for Canterbury and probably didn’t get as much opportunity as he could have given the pack they have over there. He is dynamic, powerful and makes metres after contact,” Potter said.

“Having a fit Keith Galloway for the full season will give us plenty of metres. Aaron Woods and Adam Blair round off probably the more experienced players and we have still got Ava Seumanufagai and Jack Buchanan. They are two young guys who probably played more NRL this year that they would have thought they would get. That experience is going to leave them wanting more and there is going to be a real fight on for those front row positions.

“We’ve got James Gavet who was hampered by injuries in 2013\. He played pretty well in the State Cup but never had an opportunity to progress given salary cap restraints from the second tier.

“Young Nathan Brown gets his chance in the top squad; he has done a real good job for the Under 20s this year. Unfortunately Nathan hurt his pectoral in the game against Brisbane, which really hampered the Under 20s opportunity to progress in the finals series.”

I honestly think we look massively stronger for next barring injury gods.

Our coach is under the pump and worst case is one of the assistants takes over halfway through the year. Im hoping Potter instills a Bellemy mentality but i worry he doesn't have the power.

Anyways its a good year to put money on the tigers given 50+ odds as opposed to favourites 2 years ago

i'll be chucking a fiver on em for sure, make myself a cool 250 if we win haha

I like to pick 2 other teams every season and throw 5 or 10 dollars on them. Picked Sharks and Souths this season at good odds (pre ASADA), definitely did not see the roosters coming for the title that hard and quickly….underestimated maloney and SBW at club level.
