Tough calls

We were totally outclassed tonight but that should not excuse horrible calls. After watching replays again the pass from Maloney that leads to cordner try is 4 meters forward ( check if you can) and Pearce is inside the 10m when he scores. These are just terrible calls that don't help when your are depleted with injuries. JWH also had 3 tackles third man in at the knees and ankles the grub…. All this totally sweet and play on!!!!!

Agreed, was about to start a similar thread but you have hit the nail on the head. Woeful refereeing once more.

I don't think we were outclassed at all. We were in that game up to our eyeballs for 35 mins. We were our own worst enemy. They were there to be beaten, but we didn't have the experience or direction to capitalize.

I also though the try with the video ref call to check obstruction, just before half time was a bit confusing. There was a player knocked around (cant recall who, Luani maybe) that was close enough to decide to attempt to tackle Maloney.

I was under the impression that if a player is touched/knocked close enough to the ball, then its obstruction. Just going from some of the calls this year, it wasn't that much different from some of them.

Although at the end of the day, it didn't matter to the result.

Good call GNR

That game was lost in the five minutes before half time

there are tough calls every game. without being too cynical, the game is a joke the last few years. they pick and choose when to apply their rules, its frustrating as all fork.

didnt care today. we lost it ourselves.

the refs are a joke though. i dont even know what they did wrong but i hate all of them.

Yes. My favourite is the penalty for " hand on the ball " . Absolutely no consistency from one set of six to the next, never mind week to week.

We didn't give ourselves much of a chance with silly plays, but I agree, some of the ref calls and that try to Cordner, I don't know how that was missed.

It made for a frustrating game.

Couldn't say it any better. Re the reffing, yep some pretty ordinary calls, and missed calls (both ways) but they didn't determine the result.

Mostly agree, but also thought we lost our defensive tightness in the middle and on the right edge a few minutes earlier, when Woods and then Luani, joined Sauce on the bench. One experienced player in our spine would have made a huge difference as well.

No replay needed for Maloney's pass, looked obviously forward out of the hands live.

Two dropped balls for two run-away tries - killers when your team doesn't have 18 points in them.

I don't know what your issue was with that try

The ball was past the dummy runner when he made contact with the Tigers player

Was just a straight cut out play which we didn't have the numbers to cover

We played a compressed line most of the night and those tries were going to happen if we couldn't cut off the supply line

My bigger issue is how many times this season have we turned the ball over in the opposition red zone and they have been on runaways ??

Tough calls in every game

They stand out more in a loss, and makes said loss easier for some to deal with

Exactly.

Every coach has blown up about the refs so that says to me they are at least consistent. Consistently good or bad, the coaches have always said all they want is consistency. Now they have it.

Some more tough calls against the Broncos in my view. I thought the penalty against Richards was dubious and I also thought that their first try was off a short forward pass. The replay verified for me Hunt passing before the 10m line and Oates receiving across the line. There were a couple of others as well, but those two hurt us.
