Tough Choice : Gibbs or Fulton

I think Gibbs is more of a lock than a second rower.
I have never seen him run at an angle or break the line at an angle.

Gibbs would either be my prop on bench or lock.

Gibbs would be my choice. Fulton has been great but if the last few weeks have shown me anything it is that we need more steel in the middle therefore Gibbs is my pick

Easy choice, Gibbs.

Fulton is a decent player, but is doing the same as he was years ago. Gibbs howver is getting better with age.e

As stated Gibbs adds more size and aggression to the team, in fact he is one of our best forwards IMO and has been a good club man. Fulton has also been a good club man and has been an important part of the team but with the young forwards coming through it will be hard for him to hold down a position. Pity he isn't used more as a utility on the bench to cover backs and forwards not having seen him play in the backs I'm not sure whether this would be his go but it could be a way of keeping him providing the salary cap isn't the issue.

Fulton has really good attack and always works well on set plays with benji, and i'm pretty sure he is one of our leading tacklers. Gibbs is good because he has size, but he does not use it very well.

Thank you! I can't understand all the love for Gibbs? Honestly can anyone really say that if he was not on the team that they would want us to go after him specifically?? For mine (and I'll probably get flames for saying this but) Gibbs reminds me of Galloway. Both play well under their size and don't attack the line. Watch Galloway closely and you will see he pulls up before impact or simply hits the line flat. Gibbs is by no means anything special. Fulton is a dead set legend! He has a great attacking style of play and is fundamentally sound. I would keep Fulton over most of our forwards on the team. Gibbs is good for way too many penalties too, other teams don't fear him, they just let him bite and reap the rewards!

Chunky, keep an eye on the work Gibbs does this weekend. Watch his defence. No other front rower in the comp save as smany tries or line breaks that Gibbs does. He plays lots of minutes, and will take the ball up when some young front rowers dont want to (Fifita). Granted he isnt a great go forward man, but he does go forward ok, and what he lacks there he more than makes uo for in defence and workrate. He saves us a lot of points and we missed him bad against Souths when we were being carved up the middle

Sirro I totally see where your coming from, however I believe Fultons work rate is right up there too and potentially saves as many points as a result. I just think we would miss Fulton more due to his offensive production. I would like to keep both, I just think Fulton is worth more points to us. I also think Fultons future is at lock or super sub.

Maybe we should let some of the forum members go too. Both these players are under extended contracts & can't be forced to go anywhere.

Hypothetical question. If both of them played for other clubs, would you want the Tigers to chase them for next year? My answer is no. Imo their best footy has already been played.

True, that's what I was getting at earlier. Would we chase them if they were on other teams? Would we sacrifice any of our current forwards to chase them? Personally I would like to keep Fulton but Gibbs I could care less really,

Only problem with letting them both go is do you believe Blair is worth the price? Melbourne don't just let players go if they are worth keeping. Is the price too high?

No question about it.
