Toughest debut...ever?

agree with some i think he hgot Seyfarth wrong but McIntyre and Talau he got right.
Never seen Hoffman go around before hopefully he is safe in his debut he will have Mmbye inside him i think so that should help his defensive reads

Good luck to the kid but he’s not up to nrl and he’s slow I feel sorry for Kane Bradley who’s just as big and is a lot faster

Are you sure about that? From what I have seen Bradley is quite slow and is being looked at more as a back rower.

I doubt Reece is slower.

Fair dinkum, some of these comments make it sound like he's making his boxing debut against Flloyd Mayweather.

It's a team sport and he has plenty of experience around him plus a coach that wouldn't throw him in at the deep end unless he knew he could handle it.

He'll go ok.

It is not that, it is more that he has not played a game ALL season.

Think about that.

No rookie has ever come into first grade after not playing at all. They all come in with miles in their legs, Under 20s form / state cup experience.

This has never been done before. Development players would not even normally be allowed to play yet at all.

It's called supporters giving a bit of support, encouragement. Regardless of whether it's a team sport, he'll be nervous.

Can anyone shed some light on who is actually available for selection instead of Hoffman?
i.e. has he been included because he deserves his chance or is the cabinet completely bare?
My understanding is that we have;
Dylan Smith
Kane Bradley
Brad Abbey
Zac Cini
Matheson Johns
Is there anyone else? Josh Hoffman was signed by the maggies right?

Good thing he got a game last weekend against penrith reserves for some fitness then.

He'll be fine. Has more talent than a number of players. Just don't rip in if he drops the ball once.

That was a nine a side game, right?

Junior reps what’s that everyone who knows footy knows the junior rep system is rorted always has and always will be good luck to the kid I seen him play in the trials imo I don’t think he’s up to it

Hopefully his improvement from that trial matches the difference that Talau brought to the top grade, as he was also poor at right centre.

Smith, Bradley and Cini could play..Abbey and Johns no and no Wests didn't sign Josh Hoffman..

Reece has been among the reserves named a for a couple of weeks so it's fair to say he was next in line ahead of those others based on training and talent..

Good Luck to the kid..

Agreed. I’m getting a little over hearing how up against it we are as if Souths are premiership heavyweights.
