They might get a slap on the wrist. The NRL can't afford the Broncos to be hung drawn and quartered like they deserve.

If Turdberg was still around it would probably be swept under the carpet

This is what the NRL has needed to happen for many years
PVL is not one to be taken lightly
I don't know why the NRL can't take control of the players contracts and run the NRL along the the lines of Super Coach where each player has a value placed on him and a salary cap to match say 10 million or even similar to SC you try and put a super star team together in SC you just can't do it.
Players can be paid what ever they like but once the salary cap value is reached as team thats it.
This system or something similar may even save clubs and eventually the NRL and will spread the wealth and the talent

The biggest hurdle in something like this happening, the only hurdle preventing it really, is the desire of the power-mongers in NRL to actually do it.

Would Fox still pay squillions of dollars for broadcasting rights, should their golden goose the Broncos be brought down to their knees?

(Coincidentally, maybe now's the one time it could actually happen, because that's exactly what is happening to the Broncos right now)

We've got rules around salary cap and TPA's. Those rules are being broken.

Actually that's not out of keeping with the culture of our game. As players, at all levels, we've been taught and encouraged to get away with whatever we can. To break the rules. In fact, if you're really good at it we praise you for your skill. Why should any of us expect our games administrators to have a different culture to the culture of the game itself?

The Roosters, Souths and Broncos do it more skilfully than we do.

So if we want to change that behaviour, increase the auditing and increase the penalties. If the club can be shown to be involved, suspension of the CEO should mandatory. All points for the season should be lost and the player involved should be suspended for the balance of the season.

It should be the responsibility of a player to ensure that his TPA is registered with the NRL and failure to do so should result in automatic suspension for the balance of the season and automatic cancellation of his contract with his club.

I dont know what would be better, Broncs getting stripped of points and getting the spoon or if they get it the old fashion way of loosing all their remaining games and the doggies grab a couple.

Old fashion way...

Then play for 0 points every year for every dollar of the non 3rd party deal ..at the 6pm Friday timeslot until 2087..

The same week we final sneak into the 8 for the 1st time in 76 years on for and against

Couldnt happen to a better player or better club.

Club full of grubs and cheats, and always has been. Nothing makes me sicker than the 'This is the Broncos, we dont run last. We're better than that." Well guess what, maggots....

And as for the player... what the hell has he done to deserve any hype. Someone up here the other day refered to him as a future immortal. FFS, the guy has done ZERO.

Nothing to see here move along.

Everyone knows that certain NRL clubs (and not just the Broncos) are rorting the salary cap through illegal third party deals. You can easily identify them.

The Broncos were caught red handed a couple of years ago with money missing from the leagues club while Andrew Gee was responsible for both their finances and the NRL roster.

He fell on his sword, nothing to see here, can't force him to give evidence and the entire thing was swept under the carpet.

I'm going to outdo the bloke who licked his shoe over Latrell....
If the Broncos get sanctioned I will EAT a shoe. If the Roosters get dragged into it then Geo has agreed to eat one of Happys socks.

If there is a serious investigation and punishments dished out for anything other than irrefutable evidence jammed down the NRL's throat, I will post social media videos of me attempting to replicate Ron Jeremy showing (in the words of Liam Neeson) "A particular set of skills".

Lets hope there is a proper investigation and appropriate penalties if found out to be true.

Player and manager rubbed out for year for knowingly contravening NRL rule- cant say player innocent / didnt know. Club CEO responsible and staff behind whats happened never allowed to work again in the NRL, club itself penalised a significant percentage of their salary cap and loose all competition points for the season (so if this drags on to next year for finalisation of penalty- no points for 2021)....
