I believe Musgrove and Twal were both carrying injuries last year, and Bore was just back from injury and out of fitness.

Mikaele was injured too. Had a very quiet year

He just doesn’t look like a first grader to me. My fear is that a lot of these young fellas will come in and be at or around his level. No guarantees blokes are going to cut the mustard in the toughest Comp there is.

They say a team builds from the front office. We know the merger had its problems and that bias and control issues caused friction. These issues have been rectified, and the results are showing.Recruitment, training, coaching is now more professional and in line with the top clubs. We are on the way up.MAYBE CLUB MANAGEMENT SHOULD BE ON THE LIST?

The buck stops at them for all 5. As it stands I have them 2/5 max

I personally think individual skill and being able to read the game is a major trait of all the good teams and is overlooked.

There's no point having an aggressive pack, the best coach or good game managers if the rest are dropping the ball, can't pass properly, get out of position or see an overlap.

Sounds obvious, but last year we had a few blokes who couldn't even carry the ball properly or stay in position on the wing.

6. Good fundamentals- WT would be 1/5 based on recent years

I read he had an eye problem that had to be fixed. He has great leg drive and attracts a lot of defenders , not a powerhouse prop but I think he can get the job done

The main traits everyone has overlooked is having a golf playing benevolent person with a endless supply of brown paper bags and also getting the majority of 50/50 calls or rub of the green in their favour

Yes
Passing, Catching kicking, ruck D and line D all pretty abysmal = no consistency except for the continual L's and few W's

There is a 6th its called speed.
Different to strike power.
All the top clubs have speed & strike power.

100%

Tim Sheens was always a huge fan of speed across the park and had a lot of success, even when we had a relatively small and underpowered pack.

The 2014 Mick Potter side was a good example too. We had some real speedsters in Brooks, Austin and Tedesco. I'd say it was a bargain basement team but their speed got us just two wins away from the top 8 (last season we were three wins away).

You can’t coach speed.
They have it or they don’t.
It is an absolute game changer though.
If you have it teams worry about it, in defence it creates new thoughts and panic at times.
In attack it’s a pure weapon be it support play or open play it creates an option which at times cannot be defended against.

Last year we had the slowest backline.
AD, Talau, BJ, Mbye, Benji would all get run down & easily.

We need that speed burst. It’s why Lids is effective around the ruck & we keep faith in him - it’s his speed.

Jet is a big win here if he turns up, AJ as well if his eyesight is fixed for bombs. Don’t know about Laurie though. We also have a few speed options on trial contracts/extended squads.

Don’t know if it has been mentioned but what may as an obvious quality is sometimes not seen in losing teams but often seen in winning teams..
Teamwork.
I often hear the phrase “playing for each other” which is really just another KPI of teamwork, same as others previously mentioned.
I expect our coaching team will have WT playing like a team in 21.

Its funny because the 2005 team weren't actually that speedy as individuals, we just played fast.
We also had a young Benji and classy Prince, who were all the speed and strike power we needed.

Winning teams tend to have the best players.

Tend to, yes. Not always but.

2005 We didn't.
In the last ten years:
2010 Dragons didn't
2014 Souths didn't really
2015 Cronulla didn't
2016 NQ didn't.

I think one of the major traits of winning teams is that they will either score more points than their opposition, or not allow their opponents to score as many points as they do.
