No winners in that deal....

Lollll.
DWZ could do OK tho at a different club.
I have doubts, I wanna be positive tho.

Dud for a dud ...great

After watching Leilua on Saturday, he has no chance of NRL at WTs. He looked unfit, overweight, couldn't get back onside in time, wouldn't chase and was generally disinterested. Other than that I didn't have a problem with him.

That’s what I noticed too

DWZ - big body, runs hard, can put on a big hit, lacks genuine pace and error prone. Does that tick all recruitment boxes?

I don't believe they'd be that stupid. Why would they let go of an overpaid player to get one in return? It does little for their cap relief.

Should come with a **Mole Warning**

And that's the reason we are chasing DWZ...
If Mbye is out injured that means Joey back in centre to replace AD... Or we bring in JTJ and have Joey 4 and Talau on the wing which is not good at all as we have no backup.

If we can offload Joey and get DWZ that is a great win for the club as we are not keeping Joey after this year anyway.
People need to remember we didn't sign DWZ to 850k a season the Dogs did and we are not going to pay anywhere near that money if he comes. He falls into the Joe O area where he just needs a change of club and into his best position on the wing.. He was playing for his country when he was on the wing only 2 years ago and cannot believe all the people saying no thanks.. Have they seen our current back ups as we clearly lack in the wing position.

We have a better option:
Tupou, or Morris bros

Ridiculous

BJ - Contract option in Tigers Favour

DWZ- Out of form and overpriced @ a rumoured 800K.

Does anyone else see history repeating itself here???

Our younger players will have one full season more of experience. I tend to like to give the young players an incentive to learn and improve to the NRL. If we want to be a development club, we need to back our development and junior recruitment.

Even if we did put DWZ on a wing ...I see far more upsize with Roberts there ....

I don't, JTJ is a centre, he is no giant and hasn't been tested under high kicks, which will find him out, he hardly creates metres on dirty hit ups, he is surely just a fill in at wing

Agree. It's working for now, but I don't think Roberts has had to catch one bomb or clean up an early kick yet. DWZ is a step up from there.

Not sure how we're going to swap BJ given he doesn't have a contract with us next year.

I agree that we need to develop the younger ones but I personally think our balance is out of whack and we need some more experience in the team to help that process.
We will be losing Joey, Packer, MCK, Mbye (likely) and for me if we can get a player like DWZ who has played rep level it is a bonus considering we would only be up for 300-400k a season. Don't get me wrong I would prefer JAC, D Tupau or Coates but unless we pay like 700k it will not happen so this is a great stop gap without over spending..
I trust the recruitment team as they would not do a deal for overs and that's pretty obvious going by our last 18 months recruitment. Everyone cried when we let Josh A go and got Joe O as his replacement and look how that turned out - Excellent

If people are happy with jtj on the wing for the moment that’s all well and good play dwz in reserve grade till we get an injury he is a far better player than bj this is a win win for us with bulldogs paying for some of his contract this year and next

But we’ve paid half of BJ this year and he’s off contract at seasons end. We’re rid of him. We don’t need to trade him for someone who is also overpaid and will be getting an extra 2 years (per the Pom).

Just had a quick poke around the The Kennel Forum incase there was a little extra mail, They are so scummy.

No decent opinion or educated banter, merely dopes swearing.

Very Appreciative the Forum Members and Mods Here.

Yeah but we are after dwz anyway so may aswell take advantage of the situation get him here this year and get rid of a player that I doubt will get a run in the nrl again

TIGERS-BULLDOGS EYE POTENTIAL SWAP DEAL
The Tigers are still somewhat interested in signing out-of-favour Bulldogs utility back Dallin Watene-Zelezniak to boost their backline stocks.

The Dogs are prepared to pay a large slice of DWZ's hefty salary to sweeten the pot and a player exchange is also a possibility.

And who is the player being mooted in the swap? The **temperamental Joey Leilua,** who has been in and out of the Tigers side but can be a dangerous attacking weapon on his day.

Watch this space.

He is going to score a runaway try for us at some point but it's more likely he will drop 3 high balls high and run to the other side of the field to defend an attack on his side.

DWZ to me has a lot more upside on the wing compared to JTJ. I like a trade of DWZ of BJ but surely the Dogs aren't that stupid.

There isn't really a trade for us is there. We are just releasing a player mid season.
