After last years optimism following the Manly Trial at least we can approach 2022 on our knees praying for a turnaround so I am taking this loss as just a trial and good times are around the corner 😂

Liked the look of Mikaele, Tuilagi, Dillon and Rua. Musgrove looked strong with his carries and thought T'oa was good with his efforts.
Wouldn't trade Dillon with Laurie, as suggested from others, but there'd be no complaints from me if he replaced any outside backs.
Really hoping Hastings works our for us as I don't think I could take another year of disappointment. Anything better than last year!

Also aren't all proceeds from the trial games for the Tonga appeal?

I have never see us look as lethargic and one dimensional to start a season.

Our forwards had zero punch and our backups got rolled by reserve graders.
Tamou said they played basic like Madge wanted. Peach said Madge wanted the win.

I get trials mean nothing on a season but geez that was terrible.

Lets hope they are ironing all the crap out now otherwise it’s going to be an extremely long long season and not for the good.

Very impressed with Rua

When getting to dummy half and passing it to the runners chest is an improvement on the first grade hooker, its easier to stand out. IMO he was bog average.

I’m very hopeful this year. How could you not be? Same coach as the last 3 years (we yearn for stability) and much the same squad. I’m looking forward to our next trial.

Absolutely terrible performance. Too small, too slow. Just weak. Even manlys reserves made us look tiny. Our entire second half backline was about 80kgs dripping wet.
Why is Kei a development player if he's only deemed good enough for 5 mins at the end of a trial in which juniors played the whole second half? Just let him go

I can't get excited or worried after a trial match.I will have a far better idea after 6 rounds,having a viable safe full back is the main issue that concerns me
