LIVE GAME Trial 1 v Manly

Live Game Discussion
Dillon was much better than Ogden, IMHO, Laurie shall be our preferred FB, than Dillon.
Ogden reminded me with his bombs catching on Moltzen, when FB was our weakest link.

Look it was 1 game of 40mins in a trial with rain and wind swirling around.

Dillon it was his 1st big hitout - I won't judge him on it outside that he needs more time with the faster & bigger game to see what he is made of. More importantly he bounced back after the early blip very strongly which shows character, that impressed me alot especially against Turbo who is the best fullback in the game at the moment - for a kid that would be daunting to say the least especially with the conditions.

Ogden just looked totally out of position at the back, he at least jumped for the ball. Difference with him v Dillon was Ogden played against players his level v Dillon playing against players many levels above him currently.
Ogden played most of last year in the centres and did well. It would be hard enough coming into first grade let alone having to play in a position where you have not had a lot of recent experience. Add to that it was against Manly in tough weather conditions and it is a very hard initiation for the young man. We should give him an opportunity in the centres where we are weak.

This is the trial game competition table for those panicking about the game on the weekend. Looks like we are cellar dwellers with Souths, Roosters, Storm, Newcastle and Cronulla.

SOUND THE PANIC ALARMS!!!!!!! 🙂

That against is a worry

First time contributor to the forum but very long serving Tigers fan and Tigers member. Was compelled to sign up to say this, after one trial match I can't believe how many negative comments have been posted on this trial game,
I understand the pain of the past 10+ years, however we as supporters need to get behind our team and encourage them, there is a long way to go in 2022. so less of the negativity and more of the positivity. As always at the start of every season I am optimistic. Go the lads in 2022, here is your chance to surprise everyone with a great year.

The first half was the only relevant guage, if at all, and there wasn't that much between the 2 teams, even though I thought Manly looked rustier than us for the most part of the first 40.
Their first try had me a bit worried with our ball watching and backpeddling, just like last season, 10 metres out from our line. Apart from that, we had a few unlucky moments and tries disallowed, we probably were on top for our fair share of the half. DCE delivered a couple of quality kicks and Turbo was the biggest difference. They scored a try when we had a man down, and another when we were asleep with seconds on the clock.
The biggest concerns for me were our weakness in D out wide on Pauga and Noffa's side (again), our lack of constructive play from dummy half (again), our lack of aggressive running and tackling from our pack again) - all issues we continued from last season and don't yet seem to have addressed.
Until our forwards start doing the mauling instead of getting mauled, we will never get on the right side of the winners ledger.

Your agreeing with most members posts TigerSJ.
The forwards didn't get mauled in the 'main game' but I agree they need to show more aggression.
Wait until the next trial Tiger because it should be as close to our side this year with AD and DL to come, if they don't do as you say, then you and I might have to strap the boots on 😁

That was obvious before the trial

Not to be cynical but it’s hard to look past. Wallop them last year - Turbo and halves… therefore outcome this year much more accurate, however they may not be top 4 based on not piling on more points in the first half 1645430442281.png

Points differential is on track to emulate most seasons

Ponga could do with a few shots. He’s turned into a cocky little prick.
I thought you said you don't like people who swear GNR
