Could somebody explain to me the point of trialling players who have no chance of playing first grade this year.wouldnt they be better off in the reserve grade trial getting close to a full game.

If we want reggies to flow into the NRL side why wouldn’t we take a few over for some game time for the trial, train harder and take it back to the reggies team. It keeps them keen also puts the 1st grade squad playeds on their toes.

I have no issue with it. Heck most of the nrl squads have reggie players listed this week in the squad.

If a player is the best option to be selected then select them regardless of if they will stay or leave.

He is an interesting one.

I always rated him and he had a game in grade for dogs last year that was absolutely woeful... worst on field. Think he got moved from fullback to wing and everything he did was wrong.

But he is a goer and I think he is a good signing, hope he kicks on and makes the most of his opportunity at the Tigers. Definitely could do a job for us, especially in NSW cup and as back up depth...

I believe Declan Casey is a genuine contender for an NRL spot with us this season.
He is an athlete who runs the ball strongly, could be a real surprise packet.
Although not at the top of the list when all players are available, I like the look of both our centres named to start against the Warriors.

I don’t think dropping the ball is a major issue for him.
I’m more concerned about him playing lazy, not getting involved and not using his big, strong and fast frame effectively enough.
Anyone with his attributes only needs to play with effort and aggression and they will go ok.
I assume that’s what Benji thinks too and is backing himself to get the best out of him.

Prop aged about 27 or 28.
Was a standout playing Qld Cup a couple of seasons back, played NSW Cup for St George- Illawarra last season.
He’s a tallish, mobile type of prop who seems to run the ball well, don’t know much about his defence.
Looks a decent pick up on a lower tier contract in my opinion.
