Matamua will end up being very, very good in my opinion, but will take time.

2023/2024 will still probably be development years for him as a middle forward.

Will benefit from having players like Klemmer in the middle with him when he does get first grade opportunities over the next couple years.

Agree KR, and I hope he does well but there was some talk on here about giving him the 13 spot in first grade, but I can’t see that happening anytime soon.
Anyway, one to watch.

Yeah agree, he doesn't look ready for that yet.

But I wouldn't be panicking about the development of a player like him for at least a couple of years.

Still only a teenager and I think he will get there in time.

J Matamua will play 13. In NSWC. Joffa will be our 13 for first grade. The team needs to play with more than just 1 player capable of ball distributing out the back. Bunty Afoa was doing exactly the same thing JMatuma was doing for the Warriors. Sure Matuma has pretty slick hands but I was more impressed with his work rate.
As I said I see him playing out the year in cup in 13 ready for the call up.
Joffa can be relied upon to fill the 13 for first grade.

Marshall has already stated that Ofahengaue will play prop and not 13.

Really?
I didn't really see Matamua smash into the line with heaps of aggression, Carry a heap of defenders with him and make plenty of post contact meters - getting the team on the front foot.
Don’t be coy.
There is about a 8-10 year difference between both players. But you do make a point, as my comment was in reference to the ball playing skill of Matuma has slick hands but we can’t rely on him alone for our attack which is a lot of what the first half looked like.
The warriors had all their forwards capable of playing both hard and skilled.

With his willingness to offload, I think Matamua playing on the edges would be the way I'd view him. Pole looks like a workhorse type set for a middle role. Faagutu might end up the future 13.

Regardless, it looks promising..

Disagree, Matamua is wasted on an edge.

Poor start on Thursday but is the future 13 in my opinion, his link play is usually very good.

Faagutu, Pole and Laulilii should be the future props in my opinion, if we keep them all.
