LIVE GAME Trial 2: vs. Raiders

Live Game Discussion
Great post JR and I agree with what you have written. One of the great frustrations of the previous years is the individual skills of our players in many cases regressed, and few (if any) players improved. We've seen in one off-season what is achievable with a mindset of playing actual football.
All your doing paws is wetting your pants at how well the trial went with the old boys club coaching them while having a sly dig at Madge...
I bet if Madge had the same team and not be tied by poor cap and recruiting he MAY have the team playing well especially with Blore,Talau,Klemmer Stef and AD all in the team... thank God Madge got the pathways going again ....but please continue...

What was pleasing is seeing Raiders with many sets on our line but Klemm and Steph plus the rest would not let them cross . Raiders were terrible but you can only play what's put in front of you .The outside backs were good very few errors Talau ,Tupou and Noff all good as were most . Titans will be tougher .

I expressed with satisfaction that even in the short period the new coaching team has been in place, the skills of our players have improved markedly. This is in contrast to the Maguire years where few (if any) of our players improved and some regressed.

I'm under no illusion that this year will be difficult, but we need to take our wins where we can. I am consistent in that I expected the same skills improvement under Maguire, if not wins. This did not happen.

You can bet all you want but the reality is Maguire is gone. His cabaret of hardcore supporters on this forum, of which you were one of the more vocal, need to unpack that reality. There are grief counselors who can assist.

At the session I was at, he trained at centre for the first team and fullback for the reserve team, so he's obviously been training all over the place.

Good to have versatility, he could become a bit of a Mr Fix It.
When i watched the game the second time, i mentioned how good Simkins looked, and trials can be misleading, but Kepaoa was a standout with his energy in attack and defence. I think he could be more then a Mr fix it .
