Our go forward was bad, no quick play the ball, and our 2nd raw was dominated by the opponents.
All in all, disappointing effort so far :blush:

Reading through the thread, having only caught the last fifteen minutes of the game. To this point this post finally gives me an idea of how the game is playing out and some reasons why our half may not have been the best player on the field in the first half.

not sold on reynolds, he looks very ordinary.

He looks.like he.has a.million things going on in his.mind and hes.trying to.act on every one of them.
Needs to calm down a bit

i don't think that that will change at this stage of his career.
It should'nt be a surprise to any one.

So disappointing…
Think I'll concentrate on Aloiai and Thompson as they were our only quality players that I saw.
Otherwise we looked clunky and slow. And same old same old with some players (Lawrence, Brooks, Macca)
You know the team is going ordinary when Rochow stands out for doing qty... trouble is we need quality.

The less Reynolds tries to do things himself the more value we will get out of him.

I'm glas we didn't complete the comeback, a wake up call for fans and some of the players before things get serious.

Putting him on the bench for most of the game would give him nearly nothing to do.
Less time for him to stuff up

True , but with all the "depth" you think blokes would be cutting off their right arms for a starting position

We played without enthusiasm , especially in defence , that's the concern for me

I liked Thompson but our forwards need to protect him when he is being man handled or cheap shots being put on him. Surely we have the size to do this now.

Yes Godinet looked the best at dummy half.

Rochow put in and good to see he played big minutes.

I like Marsters efforts but defense or reads in defense need work.

Not going to bag anyone (did enough of that already) but I am sure Ivan will be working on the kicking game before round 1.

Brooks is on life support , he has no idea and is not good enough for this level if Cleary is serious Brooks will be playing ISP within 4 weeks of the season starting.

Yes I agree , but our attitude sucked

Don't care if it is a GF or a trial , be mentally right and show up and show 110%

I don't expect us to win every game , but I ask one thing , attitude and effort

I wouldn’t Judge the halves in trials. NRL teams don’t ever play to their structures in the trials absolutely never. Coaches are not dumb enough to give away their shapes before round 1\. I don’t want to give away our plays in the offseason so we can feel good about they year ahead.

If he isn’t there is no one to replace him …it is really time to get serious with Brooks he has had long enough surely time is up .
