Trial Match v Cronulla Sharks *LIVE Thread

That last try can't happen. Spread the ball from a scrum and backtrack to the ingoal? Nope not good enough,

Reynolds will be fine - he's trying a bit hard but his half partner looks as dangerous as a wet paper towel so it's not surprising

To put that last try into perspective: Fifita passed it to Edrick Lee who passed it to An under 20s player and they still somehow made an overlap

Lawrence has again shown that he is a 'has been' (for last 5-6 years and counting :frowning🙂, Sue, Chee-Kam, Taylor and Aloiai and even Rochow are much better option.
Or will it be, he must be in the team because he is the best captain ? (like Mark Taylor, at the end of his carrier) :bash

I'm staying positive.

It's a trial and we were missing Twal, ET , Sue and the Huth who only played a few minutes.

We will be fine this year. Maybe not make the 8 but fight hard each week.

Pros
Thompson
Rochow
Aloiai

Cons
Brooks kicking yet again terrible
Red Zone attack pathetic
Eisenhuth playing halfback in 1st half with Brooks flat waiting for a hospital pass and the backs wondering WTF is going on? Shades of Bulldogs under Des Hasler!

Apart from that it was a terrible performance by the OPSM team.

Isn’t this what trials are for to test combinations why panic when we have not started the competition proper as I am sure the Cowboys did not slit their wrists last week

To his detriment Reynolds was trying to win the game by himself tonight. He was much more composed last week. Ivan just needs to tell him to chill and revert back to a composed performance - its a team game. Defence will be the key to our season.

Thompson was fantastic?

But Lawrence is a really nice guy !

Fonua has not impressed me so far - hopefully he will get better.

The halves were ok once McIlwrick was off the field. Godinet has to be the DH until Liddle returns.

Aloiai was good, don't know what feed you were watching Harv, maybe the Penrith game
Matulino was one of our best.

Thompson was good, so was Rowdy, Kev, MWZ, Rocco, Masters (at times), Packer needed the run, McQueen, Lolo and Gamble were not on the field long enough.

All in all a bit to work on in the next few weeks before we towel up the Rorters.

Also does packer look bit of the pace to anyone
I remember his good form at drags but sine world cup havent seen it lately

i noticed it last year at the goons,he was ordinary as he was tonight.

First game he's played this year. Bloke must be 120 kegs plus. Give him a chance…

Don't let dislike or stubbornness get in the way of good judgement mate.

Better second half but we looked down on intensity versus Cronulla who looked like they treated it more like a round 1 game so we can't worry too much.

Two things for me on top of other comments already made.
1) If Brooks dosent lift for 80 it maybe that Marshall and Reynolds are our halves.

2) Numerous times our forwards who played strong after good meters we're in position for offload but no support. This needs remedy and is where our attack can develop.
